That was test cricket at its finest on a wicket that offered very little. It was a gripping days play where at both lunch and tea pakistan were probably favourites. That session after tea where they bowled 20 overs, took 5 wickets for 11 runs is quite extraordinary. All hail, it just about worked, only 3 days before they go again.

After the WC exit thought I would get some respite with England well in charge against pakistan. Alas much unhealthy swishing and loss of 5 wickets for 19. A chase of 355 not be ruled out these days and pakistan well on the way. 157 to win tomorrow and six wickets in hand. Baz-ball is not necessarily bright-ball.

Looks like pakistan will win, but it did in the last match too.

Well done England, that was by no means obvious.

Think we get away with one there, especially that low catch. No complaints as in the past when everything seemed to be a home decision. On to Karachi, this is an unexpected and welcome end to a successful cricket year.

England test matches are rarely dull these days, and, more often than not, with a successful outcome.

we normally beat the windies or India at home and get number one in the world rankings, go out to the middle east to play pakistan and lose 3-0 in a 3-match series having been given a cricket lesson, usually bcos they have decent spinners and know how to bat against spin. Now this - must be right up there in the annals of English cricket.

I have to admit, 'floreat bazball'. A bazball Ashes would certainly be a sell-out. And probably the end of it.
