You are chocolate bar coming out of the same chocolate factory as the other chocolate bars. They have different names but you are ok, your owner markets you and makes sure you have pride of place on the confectionary counter. But then your owner sells out to a foreign owner and all of a sudden you have fallen down the chocolate bar pecking order. The new owner owns more than one chocolate bar factory and wants to concentrate on them. Your secret chocolate bar recipe may end up being used in one of those other factories. Your independence and market place is gone. Edited by southnorwoodhill (29 Dec 2022 6.25pm)

I seem to remember that quite a large chunk of that £4 billion for Chelsea (Maybe £1 billion) needed to be earmarked for much needed ground improvements (cant remember the exact details) Originally posted by dreamwaverider

Also Mike Ashley made no secret of the fact that NUFC were on the market for some considerable time at around that money, so any number of parties could have looked at it & decided that it wasn't what they wanted -

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course). |

According to the Athletic, the relationship between Parish and Textor is frayed. Textor has said OL will be the cornerstone of his project. Lyon will be the epicentre of his new organisation and investments. How will CPFC fund the new stand and incoming players? Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

It's as plain as the nose on your face to see how this "plays out"..!! Textor - will concentrate whatever funds he has on OL. Meantime the reluctant Harris and Blitzer are looking at other options - so presumably Liverpool and Man U. Meantime they'll be no funds available for us in January - hence Parish's comments we'll be looking at the loan market..!! Does not bode well at all..!! COYP

How anyone can blast our owners beforehand. I mean ok Textor, new but it's just 1.5 years ago when he just had come in that everyone praised him for Guehi, Andersen and so on. Our Billionair backers, even if they stay behind and aren't to involved will keep the club afloat. You know you get a better interest on a loan if you have billions instead of being skint? (Jordan)

This does sound worrying, we better hope the academy starts producing some talented players as this looks like our go to for the future. Not sure why John Textor got involved with us if we are only 18 months down the line?

Presumably he got involved with Palace because he wanted an entry point into the PL & we were the right club for the level of investment that he was comfortable with at the time - According to SP nothing has changed in terms of boardroom level decision making, shares in the club etc - obviously how things play out going forwards will be interesting to see -
