Not much of a debate, most of the time attitudes didn't differ. As for 'god's intentions' or nature.....I think that's quite clear in the fact that most humans are straight and biologically fit into one sex.....that and the fact that humans number in the billions. I was speaking more in general terms. Your God, my God their God, no God. If everyone thought they had the same intentions, the world would be a bit of a more relaxed place. God and Nature I personally wouldn't put together and biologically as all species we're 'meant' to reproduce. But as the most intelligent species, in an over populated world, perhaps we need to re-prioritise our aims.

But evolution means that not everyone is meant to.....I think classically only 30 percent of males got to reproduce due to several factors.....while it's not always the 'fittest or strongest' males reproducing over the population in a population scale it would work out that way...more than not.....so the species would....via that Darwinism improve genetically. Modern societies have ended that brutal reality and while that's obviously better in many ways there are negatives as well. I think in some ways we see that resultant dysgenics in today's societies. Are we over populated? Human birth rates are in decline in the first world but racing along in the third. Edited by Stirlingsays (19 May 2022 5.09pm)

I must admit - one phrase that seemed to get thrown around quite a bit during the BLM reporting was "if your not with us your against us" & to me I was somewhat aggrieved about this on the basis that protesters were saying (or seemed to be saying) that if someone didn't publicly / outwardly / in front of everyone support their cause then that person absolutely must be a racist. I felt that was an attempt to take away any individuals freedom to decide how publicly / to what level they wanted to support it & to publicly judge / condemn those that didn't. I have no problem with people speaking up or protesting peacefully whatever the cause but if something is to have true value shouldn't it grow organically rather than people being pressganged into it.

Good points, DE. Not kneeling - you must be a racist. Don't wear a rainbow badge or ribbon? - one is homophobic. Make jokes about your ex mother-in-law - that could be considered misogynistic. If you are none of these, something you might have posted online years ago may cause the police to be on your case imagining up some "non crime hate incident". Or in J K Rowling's case, her suggesting that women menstruate has caused her to receive an absolute battering for being transphobic, with even those who made an absolute mint playing characters in the movies of her books, laying the boot in to her. No wonder people think twice about saying what they really think.
