Did you see him pace off the Palace free kick at Leeds goal in the second half? 6 paces. 6 f*cking paces. Lazy sod. What a joke of a ref.

Well end to end stuff but no real quility in final 3rd , just alittle better final ball easy win but after the last 3 games i enjoyed it. Joel had a good game at left back and got in better cross's with his left than he does with his right , it is easier to tobe right footed in the left back position played my last 6 years in that position before to many injurys, Eze is still coming back will hold judgement until next season , the injury has taken alot of confidance out of him and it takes time to come back from a serous injury , still thought Edouard should have come on for Eze , leeds defence couldnt handle runners , ! more win needed to be sure which would put us up to 11th with the game in hand , we could become the hatchit men and send everton down if burnley get more than 3 points ahead of them , So looking forward to next season couple more signings and we could dare i say it top 6 but lets get top 10 first Edited by mtp1958 (26 Apr 2022 6.18am) Edited by mtp1958 (26 Apr 2022 6.19am) Edited by mtp1958 (26 Apr 2022 6.20am)

How does he allow rotational fouling on Wilf but books Andersen for 1 foul? He was as bad when we played Newcastle, seems to want to be the next Clattenburg, loves lecturing PV

I cannot find fault with the overall performance, we just lacked that quality in the final third in terms of decision making and execution. We deserved more than a point.

I was waiting for the Leeds last gasp winner, so relieved really. One point may not be enough for them, they have 3 very difficult games to come. I would have liked Wilf to be more composed but he is still the min threat from us.
Leeds could have been there all night and not scored a goal. Never felt troubled at all by the opposition going forward which you don’t often say in this league. As you say , they could be in trouble after their next few games. My concern with the game was our normal problem in that we struggle to turn promising positions into goals. We lack a killer instinct which is costing us a lot of points. I’ll be happy if we get two wins and 2 draws to finish off the season on 46 and hopefully help relegate both Watford and smug Everton along the way.

Leeds are very different from the team under Bielsa.Far more compact and 'Narrow' and no man-to-man marking all over the pitch.

I saw that in the post-match interview Kalvin Phillips said he thinks Wilf dives too much. Quite frankly that line is so boring now. For all of Wilf's attitude issues the diving stigma just has no basis. Teams rotationally fouling him in almost every game? Now that is a truth. Kalvin himself should really have been booked with a 'naughty' late challenge on Wilf. One other interesting point was he said the referee told them to stop fouling Wilf so much, so if the ref felt compelled to say that why didn't he hand out some bookings? Especially to Ayling who must have committed more fouls than the entire Palace team combined. Once again hats off to Ward. I barely noticed Raphina was even playing, showing that you can negate a threat without cheating. An interesting point on that was Raphina is a left-footer playing on the right, meaning when he cut inside he was facing Ward's stronger side. Maybe he might actually have had more luck against Mitchell who sometimes struggles against inverted wingers because he's so left footed.

Agree with post but that is an observation I don't think I've ever considered before! Could well be a very good point you have there. I love Joel Ward but often bemoan his inclusion in the starting XI. It was of course lovely to be proved wrong as I was yesterday. Thought he was one of our best players and despite failing to collect a cross field diagonal at one point thought he put not a foot wrong yesterday!
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Agree with this summary, and unfortunately it reflects much of this season. We play well enough to win, but just come away with a draw. Originally posted by Willo

A referee can of course book a player who has committed multiple fouls as part of a 'Totting-up' process even though each foul is not deserving of a card.
