OK, a few action shots from a lovely dinner. Though the pork was roasted, the potatoes weren't. They were mashed, so not one for the purists.

So, pork out the oven, sliced and resting,...

Bathroom cabinet put up by midday. Pork joint, 1.2kg, subsequently put in Ninja oven, at 180 degrees for 1 hour.
No crackling. Side orders of mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli, gravy and apple sauce.
Should all be ready to eat for 3pm

There won't be much leftovers, except something for the dogs and my sandwiches tomorrow.

then after lunch a watch of the F1 GP highlight,...then sleep.

This post should be deleted as its NOT a 'sunday roast.

Ninja oven? Really? No way a 'PROPER' sunday roast, just a yuppies toy for those who dont know how to cook.

Ninja thingys are over-priced tools for people who dont know how to cook OR cant be bothered . . . PFFT. Properly roast lamb with proper northern gravy(recipe handed down & taught by my Geordie g/ma & aunts), Roasties, veg n homemade yorkies

I'll tell you the result of you like, then you can snooze a bit longer!

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

No, better not, don't want to spoil FHs evening. Although it'll be no surprise that Lewis Hamilton didn't win.

On the subject of FH and his (not) roast pork, he says he had gravy with it. Well, my wife and I have just finished a roast chicken meal with the gravy accompaniment. Delicious!

But, is gravy a generational thing because my daughter and her husband never make it, preferring the meal 'dry'? Is it us or are they odd?

Mrs YT and I have rarely cooked a Sunday roast in almost 30 years of marriage, including raising two daughters. However, we did so today, cooking the turkey crown that we bought at the tail end of last year as a contingency in case our Christmas plans might be scuppered by the Covid malarkey.

Very nice it was too, with roasted potatoes, roasted vegetables (carrots, parsnips, onions, beetroot), Yorkshire puddings and a lovely gravy. OK, so I accept that the Yorkshire's are somewhat declassé.

Good call POG

Tho now FH is in another country gravy might just be a watery thing what TV chefs call Jue. Your daughter is not alone I fear, loads of peeps I talk to, have their Sunday roast dry(bleugh).

Yeah, imho, proper gravy IS a generational thing . . . *sigh*
