Good to see Conor on the pitch yesterday even if he wasn't playing. He was gracious enough to look as if he was enjoying himself and mixing with supporters for selfies etc, but it must have been agony knowing he couldn't play. He's a class act and always looks like he enjoys being part of the Palace family. His visit to the Academy a few days ago being a good example. I know we keep saying it, but we'll certainly miss him, however I can't help myself wishing him every success in his future career, wherever that takes him. absolutely

I hear we are tracking - Joe Aribo from Rangers as centre mid Dynamo for next season.

I have heard that when he was playing for Staines Town he was recommended by manager Marcus Gayle to Jason Euell who was coaching one of the youth sides at Charlton. Left-Footed, I have heard him being described as "Very unorthodox" but this was a few years ago.

Parish has come out and stated the obvious threat if Conor or RLC where available then we’d want them. My concern is if we were given the slightest indication that both the player and Chelsea were willing to do business, this is no quick transfer and how much risk does it put on our whole summer plans if it goes to the wire or falls through later on. We managed our window really well last summer with multiple options but I’d hate to miss out on other key targets because of the tiniest glimmer of hope of signing him.

Personally, I don't want any part of RLC. Chelsea is going to try to pawn him off on someone, because they clearly don't want him. Gallagher is a player who was not highly rated, and he's constantly proving people wrong with his effort. RLC is the opposite. He looks like he has all the skills to be a good player, but he never has reached his "potential". He's expensive, doesn't have a natural position, and I question his effort. As much as I like Gallagher, and I hope we can pay a fortune to keep him, I think he's the type of player that would be a star for a team like ours, but he's not technically adept enough to be a starter for Chelsea. This is no knock on him, as Chelsea are one of the top sides in the world. If he stays with Chelsea, I think he'll be on the bench most of the time, like RLC is. The problem is that Gallagher has stood out so much with us, it almost forces Chelsea to bring him back and give him a run of games.

If I were CG I'd be wary of how much match time Tuechel would be willing to give me. Tuechel seems to have little regard for Pulisic, whose strengths align with Conor's: effort, energy, and a competitive spirit that elevates the play of his teammates.

I agree CG is not a Chelsea style player. But there may be many other suitors eg West Ham, maybe Tottenham or Arsenal, assuming he wants to stay south. Then look abroad, it depends on the mentality of the lad.

The problem is he has to dance to Chelsea's tune, because he has another 3 years left on his contract, he will play in all of Chelsea's pre-season games while he is assessed by Tuchel, at that stage we could have missed out on a player, waiting for something that isn't going to happen.

There is talk that Tuchel doesn't rate Jorginho because he slows down the play so he will be sold. If that is true then it sounds like CG is the ideal replacement. So I agree with you we cannot afford to hang around hoping Chelsea change their mind and even if they did there is no guarantee he will come back to Palace most teams in the PL would love to have him.

Agree. The only way I can see it materialising is if Chelsea don't let him go, he wastes away somewhat on their bench for half a season then both parties agree to a short loan back to us before finally selling him on. Let's hope RLC lessons have been learnt all round. Would Chelsea want to hold on to yet another player who may not exactly fit with what they want/need or fails to break into the first team? Does the player want to try his chances at Chelsea or even elsewhere where he may not succeed and fall into relative obscurity? Or, would both Chelsea and CG realise that he has it made at Palace in any instance and can at least establish his career here before inevitably 'moving on'? Whatever happens I wish him all the best and would suggest like many he will always have a special place in my red and blue heart! Of course it would be incredible to sign him full time but I think that's wishful thinking from us right now. You never know
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

When CFC get their new owners, it would be normal practice for them to choose their own man as manager so even Tuchel,s future isn't 100% guaranteed, but in all honestly its difficult to see what more he could have done to make his case to continue in the position. At the moment the only way I can see he wont be there is if he chooses to move on rather than being pushed out the door.
