You've got me chuckling with these, very good! My mrs has not been able to answer 'what do you fancy for dinner' for as long as I've known her - generally she's happy for me to make the decision, but the inability to ever come up with a meal you want to eat is almost unbelievable. The only things my dear wife makes for dinner are reservations.

Yup, Newington is a wee bit more upmarket. Is it fudge! What have they got there? One Co-op, a chinese I've seen a dead rat outside (genuine story) and the Bull? Plus there's some ginger cnut who lives there, looks like me, talks like me, about 2 years younger than me and has the same last name too! Palace fan though and seems to know my dad pretty well

Yup, Newington is a wee bit more upmarket. The poor people of Newington, being stuck inbetween Sittingbourne and Medway, they haven’t got a lot going for them Edited by monkey (16 Mar 2022 8.23pm)

Where in you in the garden of England then nic ? Sorry Cryst, I'm in Sittingbourne now mate. Started in Southwark, vast majority of my life a long time resident of Lewisham, went to school in Crodyon, so anywhere was statistically safer for starting a family, buying a new house etc. It has it's foibles of course, as anywhere does, but at least I have yet to tend to any attempted murder victims yards from my front door (very real stories, yes more than one occasion).

I was dragged up on shrublands and went to Ashburton. Removed as non-thinking comment, too late for me! Was in New Cross but then Eltham briefly before moving here a couple/3 years ago. Not regretted any aspect of it whatsoever. Still work in Central, which is pricey (train), but I'd happily pay that to get an hour long train to Victoria, so a chance for a kip and never once failing to get a window seat let alone seat at all as opposed to travelling in from anywhere in SE london, on jam-packed tubes & trains, saving a little dosh but only about 20/30 mins on commute (on a good day).
