Happy if he gets 20 mins when we are winning comfortably, he just needs to come on enjoy his playing time rather than have to win the game for us.

I like that line up, but, i think PV will stick Schlupp in there instead of Kouyate or Hughes. Still, we'll find out in an hour & a bit.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Hopefully we play at a higher tempo as Roy will have them organised. When he managed us we were fine until teams started mixing things up and moving the ball quickly and stretching the game. For all of the changes we still often get bogged down in the left corner of the pitch. The stats in the last couple of years of Roy's tenure were a bit mad. It was almost guaranteed that if we went behind first we wouldn't win, but if we went in front we wouldn't lose. His start at Watford suggests it may be a similar pattern there so let's hope it's us who score first.

I do think Anderson will be important tonight with his cross-field passes, but Wilf and Olise need drive at their defence as I don't rate their full-backs one on one. If things don't pan out we have to respect the point, as a draw at least keeps 8 points between us and them.

I'm an idiot so the nearer I get to kick-off the more optimistic I get. Hopefully for a change it will be well founded.

Let's hope for a high tempo from the off but I fear we will only wake up after 45 minutes. COYP !!

Just to put a spin on things, although it may be quite easy to pick holes in logic, this Palace team is quite different as to under Roy so that 'opposition manager knowing our team, players and tactics etc' may not be massively at play here. What we do or should have however is a good understanding of Roy's tactics and how his teams operate.

Not massively optimistic of course however this could bode well in our favour. Important game for us and in years of late my dislike, some might say animalistic hatred for Watford has begun to exceed that of mine for your Brightons, Millwall, Charltons etc.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Sorry, 2-0 Watford, 70% possession for us, two break away goals for them.

I so hope I'm wrong. Nerves getting more jangly as the season goes on.

Everyone has an opinion on on Benteke, for me he adds strength to the forward line, allows creates space for others to run from midfield, holds the ball up better than Mateta and Edouard. Of the 26 points we have Benteke has played in games where we have 24 of those points. Yes he has missed some chances but let’s face it so have others. It’s all about opinions

I do recognise these contributions he has made.
But of course his goal return for a centre-forward in recent seasons has been disappointing.
