we wont go down! I am renowned for my negativity on HOL, however I am cautiously optimistic that we will NOT be relegated.

With the bottom 3 losing this weekend and Newcastle and Everton winning it feels like that may be it wrapped up. It would however be nice to get a win as soon as possible though just to increase the gap to avoid being sucked in just in case any of the bottom 3 to manage to put together a great run of form!

14 games to go - 14 draws probably. And don’t forget we’re winning the FA Cup this season

The bottom line is that we do not look remotely close to a team that’s about to be relegated. We have lost the same amount of games as Spurs, Wolves and West Ham but have just drawn much too many games. It’s an unbelievably competitive division this year but is not a hope of us going down.

If we don’t get a result from the next three games I’ll be sh1tting it a bit. The remaining fixtures have a tough look about them and our performances have been tepid for while now.

Norwich, Watford Burnley are doomed. Doomed I tell you, doomed doomed doomed!!!!! The nearest to us Norwich are 9 points adrift. It's all very well saying they can catch up, but it's a very different matter on the pitch. At best say a point a game that's 9 matches just to catch up, there are then only 5 more matches to play in the entire season. And we, of course, would have had to lose 9 on the trot.

Usually a point a game is enough to survive but this season there are no really poor teams so it is not going to be inconceivable teams in the relegation dog fight pick up points towards the end of the season. Particularly if they are playing teams with not much to play for. Burnley yesterday had 2 or 3 half chances to take the lead against Liverpool and that was virtually the top versus the bottom team. Teams in this division do get worked out and i think we may need some tweaking to help create more chances.

I am finding it hard to believe that any of the bottom 3 will amass more than 32 points, especially since NUFC & Everton seem to have found a bit more forward momentum. Its definitely going to be an interesting run in & I hope we don't end up being part of the grand finale' - which would be incredibly disappointing given the playing style improvements that we have made - In many ways, as others have said we are following in Brighton footsteps in terms of playing style / progress, they are a couple of years further down the track than we are, I would really like to think that we can hold on to PV for a couple more years & evolve further.

All the teams in the bottom 3 have attained approx 0.7 pts a game.Even if their results improve and they all attain an average of 1 pt a game from now until the end of the season, none of them would finish on more than 31 pts.

My main concern is that I think there is a lack of fortitude in the team and I don’t think our defending of the penalty area is good enough when the opposition ask us the question. I also think how poor we’ve actually been over the last dozen or so games has been underplayed a bit. Take away the Everton, Norwich and West Ham games Even the Liverpool game we handed them a 2-0 lead before we got a foothold and missed all those chances.

This thread is a mirror of last season's. And the season before that. Perhaps the Oldham debacle has left a deep residing fear in the minds of Palace fans.
