Yet it only seems like a few short weeks ago that we had threads and comments such as: "Best football ever?" Whereas I admire the optimism that some fans seem able to adopt, I'm afraid I've followed this club too long to be anything other than a realist.

Well since this thread was posted , we have picked up 1 point! I remember saying “ we were just as likely to lose all 7 games” not a million miles away from it so far was I after 3 games? As soon as the injuries and suspensions kicked in , it was inevitable!

It’s incredible how hindsight inspires some of the posts here. The fact remains that at the time of the post being created we were playing really well and with confidence and a decent run was certainly not out of the question. Unfortunately, as quickly as it arrived that confidence has since evaporated, largely IMO as a result of the injury to Jimmy Mc.

Unfortunately, as quickly as it arrived that confidence has since evaporated, largely IMO as a result of the injury to Jimmy Mc. I think it’s more down to the injury to Andersen. However Macca being out hasn’t helped. Just replacing him with Hughes could be the answer when Andersen is back? It will also requires us to go back to the high press as at the moment the huge gaps between defence, midfield and forwards don’t allow the short quick passing we had earlier in the season. These results recently are thin lines and we could have beaten Burnley, Leeds and Man Utd or drawn the last two? I’m fairly sure other sides mid table to the bottom would have been beaten heavily yesterday. I thought we defended really well but never looked like winning and even if Andersen had played we are likely to make more mistakes with the high pressing. But as with that high pressing we would be saying that it’s entertaining to watch rather than Roy’s type of football that we had to put up with over the last couple of seasons. I prefer Vieira’s way for sure but we need players that can play it and we may need the jan window to get them in?

Leeds Away can be a hard place to go but Palace can win also UTD Away UTD favourites but Palace can do well VS bigger sides e.g. Man City Everton (H) hard game when Everton get more of their injured players back but Palace can also win this one. Southampton (H) can play well have good players like Livramento but this is a game which Palace need to win also. Watford Away will be fighting under a new manager but Palace on their current form should get job done.
But I would take 5 wins and 2 losses or 4 wins and 3 draws. Need to get 15 points minimum but more is definitely not asking for a lot. Edited by Zaha127 (07 Nov 2021 10.51am) This has gone to absolute shot hasn't it, the palace way is always looking upwards never works out.
