Agreed. The Glaziers are just parasites who put nothing into Man United and just take. Abromovich is a dodgy businessmen as are some of the others. The new guy at Newcastle is on a whole different level of monstrosity. It just goes to show that football fans will forgive anything if they think it will bring success. I have no doubt that plenty of Palace fans would be falling over themselves to justify it if we got a similar owner. However not for me the toon army are welcome to their blood soaked money. I would stop supporting Palace if it ever happened. Edited by Badger11 (08 Oct 2021 1.00pm) Abromovich becoming a billionaire from the fall of the Soviet Union and well connected to putin, I think he'll be a bit more than just a dodgy businessmen.

The PA openly support kneeing at the football and involve themselves in all the political corporate woke stuff but here they allow the Saudis ownership of Newcastle U......that country bans homosexuality...literally bans it....also compare the PA's set of values to the House of Saud....I guess no one's told them that there isn't a lot of kneeing or diversity going on in Saudi Arabia.....I think women can drive cars though. Like I've said many times....it's easy to have principles when the consequences of them don't effect you. The real proof in the pudding is when they do...as I've found out many times in life there are words and there are actions.....and when money is involved you frequently find that they will discover a set of words to justify whatever fills their pockets. Shares in a club are bought and paid for by the individual shareholder from their own funds, so it is only to be expected that any income/profit from the sale should go directly back to them. If you sold shares you owned in Marks & Spencer you wouldn't expect to give them any of the proceeds!

Another thought is that a handicap system should apply, with the super rich brought into line by having points deducted according to their wealth advantage before each season. It seems at present to have more in common with the mafia than sport.
Wow. I wonder what the football world would make of that. You obviously mistook isolation with hibernation.

They will find any set of words rather than let 'principles' impede upon their own interests. They are only really interested in easy targets who invoke no personal cost.

I totally get the idea of opening a dialogue, but they should have used the opportunity to roundly condemn Saudi Arabia's treatment of the LBTQ+ community. It was almost like they didn't want to offend the Saudis. Next up will be Newcastle's media department trying to explain how they want to open a dialogue about how to treat journalists more fairly.
