Call me a Luddite if you will.
But surely the system with the plastic card was far more fan friendly.
I didn't have to down load attachments, or put things in digital wallets, or worry about my phone being charged.
I didn't have to do anything, I just turned up at the turnstile with my card.

Oh how I long for the simple life again. Talk to people when I phone a company, going into a bank, not having passwords, 5 pints for a pound note. There I go again !

Indeed! Deciding to go to the game at 2pm Saturday, jumping on a bus with a few coins, paying at the turnstyle with that score in your pocket, maybe a half time drink with the change! Just had a thought, if selhurst is cashless-does that include the programme seller?

They might take bitcoins.

Probably with 3 forms of proof of address , and a recent digital photo, signed by a solicitor or doctor!

Yes the programme sellers do indeed take credit cards these days!

OK.....after a bit of a faff working out google pay and getting my ticket loaded, I know how to get it back and show the Q code at the turnstile....have printed off the tickets too.....just in case....that was a faff too....how many others don't use a printer that often, and then takes an age to get it up and running again.
Would still feel more comfortable with my trusty credit card type season ticket.....why cant both systems operate so folk have a choice....cant be that difficult.
Another thing what about security with everyone whipping out some very expensive smart phones (admittedly many cheap ones too) faffing about with them at the turnstiles in what will most likely be a big busy queue. If i were a phone thief (which i am not) i would be down there looking for an opportunity!

Do the programme sellers take cash also? I don"t have a printer so no going for me I guess! Apart from the thieves, I can imagine a lot of phones getting lost or broken when palace score!(With Benny boy on fire this could be a lot of broken screens!)

I can print out any tickets and bring them along should anyone be struggling this way..also the programme sellers will be card only unless maybe you go into the club shop and buy it there

I think Palace and others have been caught cold on this. The recent website change with significant emphasis on it being an app rather than a browser choice will have been a Premier League dictate. That in itself is du rigueur but when it preceeds such a sudden and significant change in ST processes, I can't help but smell a rat.

To keep things short: I suggest the only reason this crap is being forced upon us is to capture our personal information for marketing (& worse) purposes.

So to save them the time, can I just say I am a regular Palace fan, my inside leg measurement is 28", I eat any brand of crunchy nut flakes and I watch too much 'late night' tv.

Can I go back to using my ST card now?

For me it's obvious the club are compromised.
For a big bundle of cash they've agreed to be part of this new world order digital identity tyranny that's infiltrating into society unchecked and unchallenged.
Why would they challenge these controlling measures when the club is being paid handsomely to tow the line?
Do you think the club volunteered to be a vaccination centre out of the kindness of their hearts? No! They were shown the pound signs.
This isn't about saving money by reducing staffing levels.
It is simply about control.
If you surrender your personal health identity and behave, you'll get to go to the game.
I know it hasn't got to this yet, but this is where all elite football is moving towards.
I don't think I want to be part of it.

I think we should continue to be able to use the useful credit card sized card as we have been able to use for years.
