Some great goals in that lot, some I remember! I'll just put in the mix:- Palace 3-0 down to a title chasing Liverpool. Pool come out in the second half just needing to score a shed load more goals..easy. Up steps Damo, left foot, top corner. The 2 from Gayle after were pretty good as well, his first from a pin point pass (was it Damo again?). Gnasher in tears at the end with Gerrard pushing the cameras away, and the Pool fans in total disbelief.

you are forgiven, the years can blur one's images, I remember an Alexis Sanchez goal v us at Selhurst a few years back as being an amazing volley - I looked back a couple of years later and it was quite an ordinary goal (2-3 - Jack Wilshire starred for them that night).

As for my favourite, has to be John Salako at Notts Forest, FA Cup 1991. I went to this game too and why I loved it so much was because I had travelled there week before only for game to be called off as I reached Nottingham, and that was the second postponement! When we finally played it made the long journeys worth every minute! Found a clip: oh happy days... i was at that bristol city game also. shocking stuff.

Many years after the event I spoke to Mick Coop(e)?)who was the Coventry right back who was standing on the line next the left hand post on that day. He said he had never seen a free kick struck so sweetly. One moment Allen was running up and the next he heard the ball whoosh past his ear. I think he was the first to re-act and to clear the ball. I told him he should have put his hand up and told the ref. He just smiled. Ha. he was probably as shocked as the rest of the ground, and with the game carrying on decided it can"t have been true-fcuker.(although I imagine we all would have done the same).

Mine is pretty insignificant, but it was a great day. A couple years ago, I got tickets for the last game of the season against Bournemouth. We were safe from relegation, so the match was no stress. It was a beautiful sunny day, the crowd was happy and in a great mood. We went up 3-0 in the first half. Bournemouth made it 3-2. We made it 4-2. They made it 4-3 with like 15 minutes left. Toward the end of the match, they started fouling Wilf non-stop and trying to wind him up. It was right in front of the away fans, and they were shouting abuse at him. The home crowd was getting angry. Right after Wilf was in an altercation during a free kick, he took off down the left wing, right in front of where I was sitting. Bournemouth tried to stop him, then the last defender tried to shove him over with a rugby tackle. Wilf bounced off it, ran into the box, then laid it off to Townsend for the goal, sealing the win at 5-3. The crowd went mental cheering, and we were singing "He's just too good for you" for like 5 minutes after. Most fun day ever.
