I have a recollection of visiting the 'Kings Cellars'. It was haunted by a ghost of lady who jumped off the nestle building apparently, lots of people had seen strange things in there, I got done for underage drinking one friday on a police raid , couple coaches pulled up, took half the pub away!

that sounds about right. It was indeed the railway, and used to tilt when more people would congregate on one side!

The airport was where Amy Johnston took off on her solo flight to Australia back in the day, she made it.She got a job delivering planes and got lost over the member for medways way on route from the north to oxford, in fog, never found her body.

Many happy summer days spent there - but that deep bit in the middle under the diving boards was always bitterly cold compared to the rest of it, even on the hottest days.

Yes, was the Croydon equivelent of going to the costa del sol, only you got home for your tea! Was a tad dangerous under the diving board, always a few blokes showing off going from the top, probably the same few as it was high and you wouldn"t get me climbing the steps, let alone jumping.

No, Cinatras is at broad green, by st james road and sumner road junction, the sign is still there, a bit further towards west croydon station from said junction. The old Purley ballroom turned in to cinderellas eventually.Only went there once opn a monday night and am pleased to say i got a 100% shag record out of there, a nice young lady from carshalton, it was on the night in 87 I think of the storms, when I entered her domain, everything was normal, when I left the whole area was in turmoil, trees blocking every road, I hadn"t heard a thing! Never heard it called that before
Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |
