Quiet tonight.

Scotland out.
England through comfortably with 3 clean sheets. Our equal best points total (1996 & 2012 (that time when Roy did a decent job).

After getting out of the group of death, facing England would feel like jumping out of the fire pan and into the fire.

Pretty tidy all round.

Nicola Sturgeon is demanding a replay as the result didn't reflect the will of the Scottish people.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I wouldn't say we made it look easy, but do we ever. At least due to likely facing tough opposition next up, we'll have essentially earned our stripes in the competition if we win. A bit of grit will be needed, in contrast to our easy breezy drift into the world cup semi finals.

Saka and Grealish made a big positive difference and seemed to give Kane a bit more zest.

Much better I'd say but don't our back line take an age to move the ball!

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

Nice to see you give Roy credit. I have to disagree though, after getting through the group of death it will seem like a bye.
I don’t think there are too many England players that would get into the German, french or Portuguese teams.
Massively over hyped.

Agree about Grealish and Saka - would add Maguire who I thought played well. Not convinced by Kane at all.

Kane is a better 10 than a 9 now. His passing can be sublime with both feet but if he is the sole striker then this part of his game is bypassed. When he dropped deeper against Czech he played a couple of lovely balls.

The real issue is our entire set up playing with effectively 6 defenders and relying on the other 4 to open up teams which against the quality of (probably) Germany will be likely to be toothless. There is a reason why we have played 3 matches and scored just 2 goals against some fairly mediocre opposition.

Was a good evening. I still think (hope) that we can play better and will obviously need to in the next round.

Feel for Scotland after their high of beating England 0-0 last week!

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Saka, in particular, was a ray of sunshine last night. His running into space and his creative passing were a pleasure to watch.

And only 19 years old. I just hope our new manager is bold enough to play some of our youngsters who showed themselves well last season.

There's no doubt that experience helps stability, but youth adds the fire and zest which Palace will need.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Was a better performance last night.

It's a blessing in disguise that Mount is not available, the first two games for some reason he hasn't been that effective.
Saka provided drive and some forward momentum which we've lacked up to this point.

I'm surprised Walker played over Trippier, as we had no-one on the pitch who cold take a corner or Free Kick with any consistency.

Southgates got some big selection decisions to make for Tuesday.

Lawro said Croatia, and Modric in particular, were getting past it.

Well age does not mean any reduction of quality in his case.

A master-class from the little fella'.
