I left the UK because I didn't like the way of life. I discovered this after being given a 3 month assignment in Germany. I discovered there was more to drinking and getting drunk every weekend, eating crap food and basically doing nothing interesting at all plus the expense of everything and the under capacity of everything. I never saw any of this until I worked abroad and it was an eye opener looking back in from the outside. I joined a company in Germany and after that, I set up my own business, working and living in a number of other EU countries. I've got multiple citizenship now, 3 passports.

The term 'ex-pat' I never use, I'm a British immigrant and so is every other Brit who lives abroad. I've never experienced the 'flag waving' nationalism in any other country I have lived in, only the UK and that's only obvious when you've been living outside of the country. I'm not talking about football tournaments but everyday life. No 'resentment' at all, just observation from looking in from the outside but typically it's taken as a resentment when it's pointed out. Heyho, nothing I can do about that but it's a typical trait shown when people don't have real experience of other cultures. A week's vacation somewhere hot twice a year doesn't really cut it.

You know nothing about him as you know nothing about any other poster. You have made your life choice, good for you. Others have done the same and shouldn’t be criticised for it by someone like you. I believe I said some time ago that you seem to hate the U.K., which you denied, well it seems you do. You seem to revel in criticising everything this country does, your prerogative but some actually like living here, most of the world want to come here so can’t be all bad.

You seem to enjoy putting words in the mouth of others to satisfy your own weird agenda. Show me where I said that I 'hate' the UK. Being critical based on experience does not equal 'hate' but clearly you don't show that experience, so I understand your frustration As you clearly don't have that experience.

Regarding 'most of world wants to visit here', more flag waiving and as usual, incorrect. France is the most visited country in the world followed by Spain. Italy and Germany are the next most visited European countries with the UK in 10th place.

So how do you conclude that someone with 3 passports is a 'tax dodger'? You clearly didn't learn much in all of the years spent in BF. Citizenship can be acquired by spending between 5 and 10 years living, working and paying taxes in most European countries. Maybe you should try it sometime to open your mind and see beyond the flag waiving.

Of course it's not just the British flag shagging as you suggest.
Here in the USA & specifically NYC I'm actually rather proud that the British or more specifically the English don't feel the need to have a march down 5th ave to celebrate our 'heritage' unlike every other nation including The Scots who have a Tartan Parade.
As well as seemingly every other nation.
