Are there any loopholes in current employment law that could be pursued to prevent Roy from extending his contract beyond the summer?

Bloody hope so

Think he could come in for next season. Could shadow Roy til end of season see if he fancies it

Does well with the kids at Chelski and Derby and that would work with us. Obviously he had nothing to do with summer sigh which made his job significantly more difficult

Would really annoy Chelsea fans which would be good

Unfortunately, it would probably annoy our fans too when we start letting goals in left, right and centre. He’s the sort of manager that could take us down in the blink of an eye whilst still looking like he is doing a good job.

I’m not a Roy supporter, never have been but I do acknowledge that replacing him will be difficult.

Thomas Frank.

Yep but on condition that he brings his Scouting and analytical teams with him

It would be wonderful to see Frank at Palace. Firstly he is my second cousin but also a forward thinking coach.
I don't want to see Roy sacked as he has done so much for us in the past couple of seasons and I respect him as a man.
BUT...his tactics are 1960's and so very negative. No wonder Wilf wants out. How long before Eze gets fed up with passing back to the goalkeeper tactics?.
Give Roy a job upstairs somewhere and bring in a more modern coach.
Unfortunately there is no ambition in this club which I have supported since the 1950's and it is more likely to be Sean Dyche. God help us...
Thank goodness we don't have to stand in the rain and we are getting our money back for these such inept performances.
Carshalton Athletic looks ever more inviting. A team that seems to want to win plus you can have a beer while sitting in the stand for a fiver entrance.
Yes I am an OAP and very fed up with having to put up with mediocre premier league performances.
If all Palace want is to stay in the league without ambition, fine! But leave me out of this.

Lampwick

That's the point with Thomas Frank how much is him and how much is the set up a Brentford, Uwe Rosler and Mark Warburton looked quality neither have gone on to do anyhting. Dean Smith has done well after Brentford but with a shedload of money and Grealish. Thomas Frank might be great but he might be Rosler.

Frank did a good job at Chelsea, promoting youth and that's what we need.

The summer signings were nothing to do with him and their are problems with how the club is run. Once a club has forked out that sort of outlay then they need to be in the champions league to meet FFP

Losing to Leicester and Villa is no big deal. Villa hammered Liverpool.

Think he may need a bit time to rest and decide if he wants to carry on in managements but maybe Roy has done what he can with an ageing squad

The summer signings were not identified by him but were given the nod by him (which is how most top clubs conduct transfer business these days)
Ultimately its a results business and balancing the resources at Chelsea with what he has got out of their players he has not been good enough. Simple as that.
Same applies if he came to a club like ours. No thanks

Good players don’t always make great managers. Look at Bobby Moore, Graham Souness , Bryan Robson, Alan Shearer. All fantastic players, bloody useless managers.

Franks 1 year apprenticeship at Derby didn’t qualify him for a top job at Chelsea. He was out of his depth and the task in hand was too much. I wouldn’t want him any where near Selhurst Park.
