What an embarrassing thread this is turning out to be. A little outlet for those who vote for parties who will probably never see government in their lifetime. Carry on gentlemen. It's good therapy for you. Let the frustration out.

Can I ask Matov to define what he thinks a "full on Brexit betrayal" actually means in practice?

It's all posturing. Cummings is still on the pay-role somewhere, and still pulling the strings,... It's the only way BJ can stay in power Possibly. Plus after all the shock, he said he was leaving at the end of this year anyway and that’s 7 weeks away and less in government. Could just be nothing. Still wanted reform and shake up of civil service and NHS management though.

But with regards to the thread, I would just love to add how much I liked the way Cummings left via the front door and carrying a box. Completely staged but also so perfect. That not giving a f*** attitude, that just doing things his own way. A true one off. Have seen some 'chatter' that perhaps this is not the last of Mr Cummings. Could all be part of a wider ruse. Johnson stays in post until after Christmas then, at some stage in January, steps down. Gove is the appointed successor at which stage Cummings comes back into the sunlight again. How the story being put around about Cummings briefing against Johnson is nothing more than an exercise in trying to flush out the real mole who is leaking. Lets see. Wheels within wheels. All I know is that this time last week there was not even a hint of this all going down. My spider sense is twitching on this one.

Thanks for your response and clarification. In essence, you are a supporter of leaving on WTO terms with all the impact that will have on tariffs, costs of goods, potential general chaos at the ports and, of course, the situation at the Irish border.

For me, the Brexit talks should have started out with the proviso that no mutally acceptable deal was possible. Ignore the fishing and the Irish border, both points are mere froth. A licensing deal can be done on the fishing tomorrow and with regards to the Irish border issue, then there already exists flying check points as it is, primarily on the Republic side of the border. You try moving heating oil in any kind of significant quantities from the North to the South and you will soon find out how 'open' the border really is. As to what happens when Johnson goes, then Sunak is a definite contender and would, from a PR pov, be a dream ticket for the Tories. But lets not forget this is the party that has had two women PM's, Jewish leadership and so on. Far more inclusive than Labour. But Gove is the one to watch. And especially in this current farce because his name is not being mentioned at all. All this BS about this feud being instigated by Johnsons bit of fluff is just ludicrous. Gove is the one to watch. Him and his Mrs are the real Underwoods in this current drama. And I use that fictional surname as opposed to Urguhart for a reason. Gove is far closer to the workings of the US version than the UK one.

How re-assuring it has been to have had such leadership through this crisis......... It is hardly unimportant that nobody voted for them tish tish. Having given so much, it is only understandable if 2 such able lieutenants should seek solace away from the kitchen-sink dramas of 10 Downing Street. And, funnily enough, just ahead of the Brexit imminent fiasco which they have clearly no wish to happen to themselves. You have to admire the timing..... . ,
