Absolute thoughts with his friends, family and colleagues. Sounds like a thoroughly decent and top bloke, gunned down by a spineless little coward.
Beginning to despise what our country is becoming and the things that are being allowed to happen. It’ll only be a matter of time before the excuses will start to be made for this piece of scum and, somehow, the majority of decent, law abiding citizens and the police (be they black/white/male/female/young/old) will be blamed and pressurised to shoulder some of the burden of responsibility for how he turned out.
What will happen is that those that continually trot out the soft, liberal views - who push for the softer sentences, who force the Police to be more and more tied up in red tape and worried about how they do their job, who continue to slag the police off and who blame us (the general, law abiding populace) will take no responsibility whatsoever for the irreversible damage they have caused to our country.
Already the direction of travel is that it is somehow the fault of the Police for not searching him enough, or that the terror watch list isn’t working rather than the person who put the gun in his hand, with him for carrying it and with the pressure and red tape placed on the police, making it ever harder for them to do their job.

Us sensible people with common sence know we have won the argument when you resort to this type of language.
You made my day.

I think you have misunderstood him.

. . . . And, here we go, already this thread is decending into another political slanging one.

Ffs people get a grip, a policeman has just been MURDERED

This is what HOL is these days. It's like people forget this is a football site. Like Croydon, it's gone to to the dogs.

I can already see the court case turning against the police and fixing the blame with them. Some PC barrister will find some stupid case against the police.

Although somone does need to take responsibility for this. I won't hold my breath

So you agree croydon has gone to the dogs and people want to discuss on a political sub forum why its gone to the dogs.
Trouble is people can't handle the truth why its gone to the dogs because it doesn't fit their PC agenda. Then scream racist as a last resort to shut down debate.

This thread is under a the 'News/Politics' section of the messageboard. There are separate sections for 'Football Talk' and also 'Palace Talk'. Not much politics chats on those if you're looking to avoid it.

As a Croydon resident since 2010, I can honestly say I've never experienced or witnessed and violent crime. Like any big town on the London outskirts it obviously goes on but it's certainly not common place like some seem to think.

There's been a lot of modernisation to Croydon, there are some terrific bars on and around Surrey Street (Mr Fox, Dog & Bull, Arts & Craft bar, Green Dragon), further south you've got The Store & Treehouse. There are a few decent restaurants in South Croydon. I will admit the shopping centre is going backwards, but its still got most of your main high street stores if you need to get anything.

I suggest a night out down there when we're back to normality and your opinion may differ. Croydon's alright.

I don't find this very surprising really but does highlight many things we already knew

Well put. We want to pay lip service to the tragedy and post Facebook memes but no one wants to face the truth.

Then last night, you get this...

Immediately Labour MP’s were responding with ‘police cuts.’

Although they’re right that it is an issue, like you say, that didn’t motivate him to be scum. And they should’ve waited a bit to find out he was dealing class B drugs as well as being on the terrorist watch list. Great. People on the terrorists have list in Croydon. Just warms your heart. Now where will one warped Cvnt decide to blow himself up in? I wonder.

I wonder what labour think that what police cuts have to do with this incident?
