A summary of the Charlton owners from their fan site, they only paid £1 for the club and it appears that they have taken more than that out of the club. This could happen to any club so careful what you wish for. ""Nimer & Southall didn’t “con each other” - they conned the club and its supporters. I find it hard to understand given what we now know, and the invoices that have been leaked, how this can be misinterpreted. Just to be clear, having bought the club for £1 in December 2019, Nimer & Southall proceeded to loot it. Sell on money, central payment money & set aside money was used to pay the monthly bills, and according to Marian Miihail in January alone the club saw £1,800,000 leave, with only £1.2m accounted for. That’s £600,000 in a month stolen from the club. We know about the Range Rovers and the £12k a week London flat, but when Nimer came over for the Barnsley game he billed the club for 14 bottles of champagne and £2,700 for luxury foodstuffs from Harrods. I’ve seen the invoices, and so have many others. Nimer also reportedly hassled the then finance Director for a £25,000 invoice for his spare cash - again, the e mails have been seen and not denied. These people are nothing more than dishonest, two bob crooks. They didn’t put a penny of their own money in and let’s not forget Southall’s partner Jade took £80,000 out for ‘media advice’ and his interior designer took £10,000 for what exactly? Anyone unwise enough to advance them ST money is giving them carte Blanche to do the same""

Their ' fit and proper persons ' test must be a breeze to get through as recent events indicate. How these people were allowed to purchase the club ( and the commitment to purchase stadium and training ground for £ millions within 5 years I think it is ) for £1 and without lodging any funds with a governing body or putting any money into the club is beyond belief. And you'd be pretty stupid to buy a club that didn't own it's own stadium and training ground, wouldn't you

And you'd be pretty stupid to buy a club that didn't own it's own stadium and training ground, wouldn't you I think there is a good argument that club owners should lodge a bond with the EFL or the PL to ensure that this sort of thing doesn't happen. I can't see why any decent owner would buy Charlton. The current owners have mortgaged the future revenues so you will have little money coming in and you are committed to buying the ground for £50m which is overpriced. If these stories are true then these owners have just pillaged the club for what they could get without spending more than £1 of their own money.

As much as I dislike Charlton no club should get shafted like this by a couple of dishonest crooks. Some serious questions need to be asked how they got passed the “fit for purpose” stage of the interview with the EFL. Would a few palms have been greased !!!

Joaquin Phoenix as joker. I'm sure he was humming 'the red red robin' in one of the scenes. And the deathly decay of Gotham was a good metaphor for The Valley
