I like to think of Everton as a generous benefactor. 20 odd million for Bolasie when we paid peanuts for him and then paying £27m for a player we originally wanted before letting us test him out first and then possibly buy at around £17m.

Rather than taking the negative here that we are taking on cast offs, this could be a good bit of business.

Roy wanted Ings as well but we missed out on that one and he has gone from zero to hero in a short space of time.

Just because players are rejected by one club doesn’t mean they are finished. Horses for courses and all that.

I find it slightly underwhelming that we are relying on a cast off from a team in a similar mid table position to us. The guy chose Everton over us and having failed to impress there is now coming here.
I hope I am wrong and he turns into a goal scoring machine. But I can't help thinking that having dodged the first bullet we are now intent on shooting ourselves in the foot with the second.

Did well when he came on

He was always moving around trying to show himself for a ball from our player holding the ball which is a change because I can’t remember the last player who used to do that. Oh yes I can, it was Glenn Murray, if he wasn’t deciding it was time to tussle with his marker. Almost had an assist with that whipped in cross on the turn down near block A/B.

It could work out for him here, but it’ll need a goal or two to get him on his way and some fortune with that split second in his favour or the bounce of the ball and direction etc etc etc with the fine margins in the Prem. Much better than fvcking Benteke though that’s for sure.

He and Tony Cascarino were very similar, clumsy and deadly in equal measure, did their job expertly ..still seems like yesterday to me, I remember George Graham and Terry Venables lol playing for us very clearly also Chris Coleman moving up into attack and being able to score some beauties think it was against Blackburn he scored the winner right in front of me in the old Whitehorse lol ...John Salako going into goal against Wimbledon in the Holmesdale end ..lots of funny and great memories.
