If this is true an we miss out on another top target, coupled with the Sorloth debacle, surely he has to go? Unless he is working to strict orders

Wouldn’t surprise me. I’d never have taken Freedman back. Never. Loved him as a player but it just feels to me that he is out of his depth. I’d rather Roy has the purse strings - better a successful Experienced manager doing the purchasing than a failed one.

Of course Freedman is difficult to deal with - it's his role to get the best deal for Palace and not spend a fortune in the process. So far, his track record is pretty good in my judgement - even allowing for the Sorloth issue where it is easy to have vision in hindsight. His brief was probably to cover off the costs of purchase, as far as he could, which he did.

In that category we fail miserably, having started the season without even a full squad which is criminal at this level.

I was so keen on us signing Bowen in January although knew deep inside that we'd eventually be disappointed. Feel like Eze is going to be that player in this window.
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |

So are you blaming the board for the purchases made by the DoF or the manager who has to work with what he has? If RH has no say then a) how can it be his fault & b) how do you know his signings will be detrimental?

Camarasa & Meyer were both hyped by so many, Roy picks the XI & obviously didn't think they were up to it or, threw a paddy & refused point blank to play them & if pushed, out of of position. Given his fondness for experience & a refusal to let the youngsters get a look in I'd rather he wasn't let loose in the window otherwise we'll end up with 3/4 more 28/30 years olds

I still feel so frustrated by this. As I understand it he was actually on the way to sign for Palace when WHU guzzumped us. Such a pity they weren't relegated

Such a pity they weren't relegated Given how much they've spent and how poorly they've performed as a team maybe they need to stop following our transfer targets! We've got more points than them even without signing the likes of Bowen (or Hugill - hahaha that one was great though. 3 games no goals ) As I and others said earlier, you would think Spam have to shed some creative midfielders/forwards before they buy more. If the likes of Lanzini, Bowen, Yarmolenko, Fornals and Anderson were all on top of their game then the signing of Eze would seem a waste, especially when you throw in Wilshire, Antonio and Snodgrass into the pot. They would be better off throwing all their money at getting a quality striker and a top centre-back.
