Great idea for all you white middle class liberals and you guilty conscience "Hair Shirt by Givenchy" Guaranteed to make you feel guilty about white privelge and climate change all day. On a more serious note they could do something practical such as: Give up their air miles and start a campaign to get airlines to put more seats on planes by getting rid of first class etc. Or free water. I just got back from Andalusia they don't have public toilets or water fountains. You just pop into the nearest bar or restaurant use the toilet and ask them to fill up your water bottle. They should campaign to make it the law in this country if access was easy people would stop buying plastic bottles and I think most people would be happy with that solution. Simple and easy to implement.

Would be good to turn up outside one of these bellends homes in the morning and park my van across their drive and just stand there with my mates and some banners protesting about some sh@t. Lets see how calm they are when Mrs cant do the school run and Mr cant get to work.

What the graphic clearly demonstrates is that in terms of environmental impact, animal agriculture dwarfs transport emissions, so to chose to champion one and not the other is a fairly reasonable position. Of course, pointing out that everyone uses electricity and has a mobile phone is far more important than any reasoned discussion though.

But surely this is the point. Most people don't really give a sh!t about most things. Ergo they will carry on doing what they like (speeding, foreign holidays, leaving lights on, going to motor racing, refusing to recycle...). "The government needs to take action to encourage a change in behaviour, therefore." Fine, except in this country we have a tradition of not accepting being told what is good for us, and such an attitude is particularly prevelant among the kind of 'liberals' we see getting worked up in this situation.

The whole protest is about government action, not individual action. No one is asking people to stop using electricity.

These same people full of glee at the government not having a majority and therefore unable to get anything done and therefore wasting all our time with a Queen's Speech, somehow expect the same government to save the world.

Seriously? Yep. Tell me what this current government is supposed to do in order to "save the planet" when you've already said that it's not a question of action by individuals.
