Villa were also after Abraham (apparently) and for obvious reasons given his loan spell with them but Abraham (again apparently) wants to fight for his Chelsea place, but as I've posted elsewhere he's looking no. 3 in the pecking order behind Werner and Giroud. Probably in the minority here - but Watkins scored a load of goals in a very confident and all attack minded team, not sure what his conversation per opportunity is but having watched a fair bit of him on tv he misses plenty of chances he ought to finish too. He’s had such a high profile last season that it will ultimately come down to him to decide where he wants to go. We missed the boat on him last season and £25 million is a bit steep imo. Don’t think he’s worth that figure and I’d prefer a more clinical striker like Brewster (on loan) or even Batshuayi for similar money is proven at a higher level. Solanke, Maja and Mateta would offer similar for much less outlay imo.
