Clyne was a fabulous player for us back in the day but he’s another in his late twenties who is injury prone, has not played consistently for a couple of seasons and looked poor for Bournemouth when on loan.
Bournemouth haven’t followed up on a deal for Clyne which shows their view.
On his recent past I don’t see him as an upgrade to Ward and he doesn’t even have the benefit of being a younger player who could improve in time.
If we’re really looking at the likes of McCarthy, Clyne and Jenkinson it’s a big concern.

Seem to remember Zaha playing poorly on loan at Cardiff a few seasons ago.

It's the choice for me.

Quality player who is going to feel at home......form is temporary, class is permanent.....and 28 is too young for him to have lose pace.

Agree. Was only 2 years ago that it was him against Walker to be England's first choice right back. At 28, if he can get back in form, could be a wonderful addition.

WZ, was a LOT younger then & had his confidence shot to pieces. You cant really compare the two. Clyne was 27 when playing on loan at B'mouth, Wilf is still only, what 26? sorry your statement doesn't, IMO, hold up.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

I think Nathaniel can find his best form back with us.

Met him once and he was a top bloke.

People talk about the negatives (or ‘obsession’) of resigning players, but as far as signing Clyne goes, if we pretend he has no connection to us at all then I really don’t think we could realistically sign a riskier-free right back that is available and in our price range. Some risks - yes... but a lot safer bet than an unknown prospect when you consider our recent transfer record...

The fact that he might be attracted to come back here rather than go elsewhere can only be a positive in this instance...

George Courtney, the World Cup referee, everyone is looking at him. When will he blow....?

Glenn Murray was rejected by Bournemouth as well before finding form again at the nipple sucking baby brats near Hove.

Murray was an experienced player when he failed at Bournemouth and if anyone thinks Clyne is knackered at 27 then Wilf is close to being knackered at 26 too.

The price, age, everything comes into the equation with players and we aren’t going to get perfection in our price ranges of under £10 mil, which I reckon is when the owners all have to agree purchases. Under that and Parish can buy without any problems from Josh and P1sster.

Not my choice of replacement, but my word it's far better than Carl Jenkinson.

Preferable to Jenkinson, would be better by a country a mile in my opinion. Not a fair trade with awb obviously, still think man united have completely robbed us there. If they are prepared to pay 70 mil for maguire then he should have been 60 mil at least

And Liverpool will want a decent slice of the money we did get for AWB. They won't be willing to give any bargains.
