However we do need a like for like replacement, who do people think will be a good replacement for him that cost around 50-60 million?( don't see the board spending any more.) Pity we never went in for Saint-Maximin. He would have been great for us. with the Newcastle owner always looking to annoy their own fans and sell everyone....could still be likely?

I really don't think the Board would sanction such an outlay.

I don't think we'll spend that much on one player and nor should we. If Wilf ever does leave it will see our style change and become more balanced. If suitors do come in for him then I think exchanges are always worthwhile as you don't then get held to ransom over every new purchase when clubs know you've got 60/70m in the bank. Realistic players that'd be useful to be included on swap deals for me: Spurs: Kyle Walker-Peters Like yourself I do wish we'd gone for ASM. Yes his end product is currently lacking but he's still young with bags of potential.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Zaha replacement?' by bexleydave This post has been merged from a topic called 'Zaha replacement' by bexleydave I said 50-60 because we still haven't used the wan bissaka money plus the 30 odd million we will get for Zaha. so roughly 90 odd million, just suggesting we use about half of that on a replacement. plus we hardly spent anything last window.

I wouldn't assume that transfer money from sales will all be available for incoming transfers.

I expect that we have - just not on transfers i think the a AWB cash went to ensure we have made a profit since promotion to the PL. thats quite impressive considering the money we spent on wages, new manager signings & wages.
