I agree with your attitude towards whistle blowers......they are a necessary check if you are going to have actual democracies......though after what has been passing for democracy recently (Brexit not happening, Basque independence being ignored) I'm starting to lose faith in it. However, I don't believe in 9/11 conspiracy theories. Everything that happened that day has an explanation, I've yet to encounter a good enough reason to believe otherwise. The Iraq war was probably a mistake in hindsight.....though I struggle to weep for Saddam. The Afghanistan war was necessary revenge for 9/11. Edited by Stirlingsays (11 Apr 2019 4.55pm) I appreciate your response Stirling. But I must say 9/11 s an insider job is a no brainer. For the past few years I've read scientists and engineers reports that quite clearly state, with detailed factual back up, that 9/11 was an inside job. If over 2,000 fire experts, structural engineers, architects, demolition experts etc etc etc can sign up for this why do you still maintain it wasn't a fix? With respect, Michael

With respect, Michael I know the 'truther' movement that you are referring to. What I'd say in response is that there are far more 'experts' who don't sign up to this contention that do....plus the NIST reports has all the structural and engineering answers for all those issues.....it's just a question of who do you believe. Essentially, there are plenty of problems with the '911 was an inside job' contention and around ten years ago I spent quite a lot of time looking at it. But obviously I'm not trying to convince you of anything.....we seem to be living in a digital world where you're not allowed to express conspiracies anymore....which I disagree with whether I oppose the conspiracy or not.

I would agree, however that there is a....desire to get Assange...that unites some....not all....elements on both the left and right. There are however ethical representatives of both sides and I just gave you two there. You do have some very odd ideas! Just because the "Democrats" accept what some well informed analysts have deduced doesn't mean that they are their "contentions" at all. It just means that they are able to recognise ducks quacks as probably coming from ducks. That the Trump apologists at Fox seek to pick holes, no matter how flimsy their reasoning might be, is just their normal propaganda. I don't see any desire to "get" Assange! I see a determination to expose the truth and out traitors in an environment in which anything critical of the top man is presented as "fake news" both by him and his apologists.
Anyway we will soon get to see if your 'Assange is a tool of Russia' conspiracy theory is right soon enough won't we because he'll be extradited. Like I said, I think you have just fallen for BS, similar to your 'collusion delusions'. As I said I haven't any experience of "Jimmy Dore" so no knowledge of his stance, beyond what I referenced. This suggests he is a bit of a mixture so to put him into a box marked "left wing commentator" is simplistic and disingenuous. To suggest that everything "left" is bad, and every "right" is good is as clearly nonsense as to suggest the reverse. I don't see a quick resolution to this at all because there are likely to be challenges and appeals galore motivated by a desire by some to keep this buried for as long as possible. I hope though that you are right although I fear that Assange would simply refuse to say anything, as Manning has. As to "collusion delusion" I have none, but suspect many think that the Mueller report can now gather dust as a filed document. I don't. I think it is the opening salvo in a battle which will be fought in many places as part of a much bigger war for the truth.

What on earth are you talking about? Assange is an Australian.....Traitor? What?? Nothing Wikileaks has ever released has needed to be retracted.

You need to get up to date with the real reason why the western intelligence agencies are so interested in Assange. It could well be that he ends up in an Australian jail but time alone will determine that. The US want to get their hands on him but the UK may act as proxies as he is here now, available and maybe around for a while. Indeed I would not be the least surprised if he was already being interviewed by MI5, armed with questions from the FBI, NSA and GCHQ. Remember that Australia is also a member of the 5 eyes. JRM has just pointed that Assange's main reason for whistle-blowing was to bring to account illegal actions of the US troops etc. So if he is standing up for law and & order why did he try and evade justice himself. Sometimes you have to be a martyr Dr King and Gandhi understood that and were prepared to go to gaol Assange is nothing like them. Edited by Badger11 (15 Apr 2019 10.52am)

I suggest that Asange would get straight into the first team at mighty Palace if they could get him on a free.

Edited by Badger11 (15 Apr 2019 10.52am) I think you can both want to expose injustices like this, but also be scared of the system coming down on you with full force. And the manner in which the charges were coming at him was possibly designed to turn public opinion against him anyway so maybe he started to turn towards self preservation. It's worth considering that even Dr King wasn't really 'Dr King' at the time. A certain View formed after the fact, often very different to public opinion at the time. And the system tried to come down on him too lets remember. He was sent a letter from the government which he perceived to be urging him to take his own life [Link]

Edited by Badger11 (15 Apr 2019 10.52am) I'm not sure that this is exactly an encouragement for whistle blowers. Do we want them or not? I'd agree that there are still issues and risks involved.....but my not really a fan of jailing those who simply reveal the truth. If you have signed the secrets act though....the state does have a right to payback.....If you take the king's shilling, then be the king's man...one or the other.
