Fourth in the series is 13 Guns. This craft beer celebrates the original 13 states and won gold in something or other and was alright.

It was more hoppy than malty, if that makes any sense.....Quite a light fruity taste with medium fizz.

Not that light & fruity is my thing but a strong 7 nevertheless.

I am getting frustrated that you are drinking all the so-so pints, not the truly wonderful ones.

Batemans is absolutely in that category and is only 45 miles from you.

Seems a beta male knows his beta lager.

Perhaps, but they were all bought in previously so there we go. Tis what it is....a social drinker trying out some new stuff.

My mate suggested trying 'Bishop's finger'....I'll give it a sniff...even though it sounds a bit like something all good Catholics should be trying to avoid.

Bishops finger is a fine old ale from Shepherd Neame. Woodeforde’s is also an excellent Norfolk brewery...

Perhaps I'll add to the list and extend the series if I can get to some of the helpful suggestions made on the thread.

It’s very strong

You’d need to like barley wine type beers, it’s half way there. Used to call beers like that an ‘old’

Of those types of beer it is indeed a fine example

Yup those were the days.

Ooh err. Do that round here and you could end up anywhere. I mean if you live in Larbert and fall asleep on a late train from Glasgow then you wake up in Elgin.

So today marks the start of an nine day series where I rate nine reasonably well known beers and ales.

Today kicks off the first but I'll play it safe and sample probably the most famous and internationally known aforementioned Budweiser......the tastes I got from this were fizzy, malty and hoppy....quite inoffensive.

A 7 out of 10.

I always get a 'woody' undertone when having a Budweiser..prefer Moretti instead nowadays if I drink lager.

Abbot Ale from Bury St Edmonds is good as well.

Are you sure you've never modelled Stirling?

You pictures show a lot of potential mate.
