This is clearly a UK Government sponsored news blackout.
They are petrified that we will get the same idea.
Look at how the London riots got out of hand a few years ago and that was just mainly the black community, the Police lost control for at least a day.
With Brexit being undeliverable as well don't be surprised to see the same thing here, we are not as quick to protest but as someone mentioned the Poll tax riots did achieve their objective, the authorities have made an active choice to limit coverage of the French situation.
They always do this of course to some extent with protests but it is particularly noticeable this time.

And happily doors are still being smashed down to nick these t w a t s

I doubt that, the Police can barely keep control of the streets as it is.
Some are being beaten up recently, they have lost all respect to some groups.
The scooter thing got right out of control although they have now been given more rights in this regard so it is improving.
The Police have also been issued with more tasers but it is only situations where personal harm is likely that they get involved with. They are unlikely to respond to cases of criminal damage or theft now.

I very much doubt there is a D notice on the yellow vest movement. No reason for it.

Reporting on it seems thin and it does seem rather significant.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Reading an article in the Irish press, since the protests started three months ago - 13 dead, 2800 hurt and cost to date £5 billion.

When you listne to this speech, which is basically the same speech from every new PM it shows why people are turning against the establishment. Nothing changes. And that is why this global yellow vest movment is taking place.

According to LBC's France correspondent last weekend the police and army protected the rich areas of Paris leaving the yellow vests to destroy parts of the the poorer areas in north Paris.

The establishment looking after themselves again.
