They’ve been in premier league 1.5 years, they’ve signed smart, no vanity signings..just good scouting with enough depth and quality. We haven’t had a premier league quality striker for 18 months, we have dougie freedman, Ian moody and his friends signing players like Jach, Rakip and Sorloth , whilst they hire the FA technical director Dan Ashworth. We are just poorly run, simple as that I think that hits the nail on the head. If you look at our club in isolation then yeah we have progressed, the squad is better then 6 years ago as is the manager and the ground BUT to get some real perspective, when you compare us to clubs in and around us we're a bit of a shambles to be honest. We have maybe 14 players that we can genuinely choose from, the rest our championship quality, our recruitment is a complete joke, we go through managers like anything and we have a team that has no genuine way of playing other then give it to our best player and hope he does something with it. I think we're incredibly amateur and the management from the top are niave. Parish is clearly a good business man but when it comes to football I think he is well out of his depth. I just see us as being like sunderland a few seasons ago rescuing our season with a few games to go each year, that will catch up with us as it did with them.

Yes, we have progressed since the season we came up. The league gets tougher each season as teams always strengthen. It's easy to compare us with the likes of Brighton, Bournemouth and Watford who are all currently a few points ahead of us and say that we're doing rubbish. How are these teams progressing then? - QPR, Burnley, Hull, Villa, Sunderland, West Brom, Stoke, Swansea, Southampton. All of these teams were in the Prem in 2014/15 and all below us. We're doing fine and better than most.

A poor rest of December and the Americans may act, rather than bankroll Hodgson in another window only to part company soon thereafter. Anyone watching our performance last night, next to games against Wolves, Southampton and Newcastle for example, will see we have tactical issues. There have been some bright spots this year, certainly last week but Burnley were not at the races. RH needs to recognize what must be done and make the necessary changes for West Ham. We need a reaction and I think his job is definitely on the line before the end of this year now. If it was up to Parish he would dither around and procrastinate but the yanks may force his hand.

I've not seen the game but by all accounts Roy was let down by some calamitous defending from a group who'd previously looked solid ie conceded one goal the previous three games.

As for Parish, where to begin? We all sat and watched last year as RH refused to make subs to come on, change the flow of a game, offer something different. The thinking was he rated the bench players so poorly that he was sending a message to Parish. This year he is bringing on Sorloth and Jeff Schlupp. It’s as simple as that. Parish has had a long time to assemble a proper premier league squad but we still have a bench without a single game changer.

The inevitable knee jerk thread after a Brighton defeat. Aside from the fact that we were playing the referee as well as 10 men behind the ball for the second half, our problems have not changed. The board should have spent more money to secure another striker at least. Blaming the manager is bonkers. Until our chairman learns that you have to spend to stay up, we are ultimately doomed. we have spent a few quid on absolute garbage. I know that not every signing is going to work but we have a habit of buying substandard to requirements. Ultimately everything is the responsibility of the board but we need to look at who is recommending these signings to the manager/board. Isn't that Dougie's job? Hopefully the yanks will be more likely to wield the sword than Parish is. I don't want to be a club know for regular sackings but if the management team keeps being called into question then something is awry that we keep repeating the same failings. BHA knew our tactics and countered them very well. They also played with more passion than us. Parish or the Yanks can do nothing about that.

The defending was atrocious, Tomkins looked dazed from the start.

To be fair we knew their tactics, the importance was in the first goal which Friend gifted them, we then compounded that by shocking defending. Had we scored first Wilf and Aaron would have torn them apart while Tomkins and Sakho mopped up jobs a good un and job done.

Having calmed down overnight, ladt night was 'one of those games'. We looked comfortable until the penalty and thought we were just starting to get back in the gane. The penalty was never a oenalty, the corner from their second goal was a goal kick. If both of those hadn't been given who knows what would happen. Them having a player sent off probably helped them, they just put 10 men behind the ball and it was obvious to the fans and the players we were never going to score 3 goals. Our defence, who havd been so consistent, had a nightmare first half....it happens. Let's see what happens against West ham....
