The distribution of wealth in South Africa is totally out of balance, unfortunately they will probably go the same way as Zimbabwe. However there are examples of success in Africa just look at Botswana where corruption (i.e. greed) has been restrained and wealth from natural resources spent on infrastructure.

I don't get why we adopt a moral position over South Africa Venezuela etc. don't we have similar problems hopefully less but really we are not likely to know before the balloon goes up.

It's terrible what's happening to the farmers as well as being so self-defeating. The farmers have the expertise and could pass that onto the black Africans but, instead of this, some black Africans decide it's better to murder and mutilate the farmers, as far as I can tell, mainly due to them being white.
