I think Tottenham will boycott this transfer and sign Meyers. There’s news reports coming out mentioning Tottenham now, allbe it nothing concrete yet. Spurs cannot afford him - he’d blow their wage structure wide open earning more than anyone else at the club. They sign him the repercussions in the squad would be very very costly.
Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |

Interesting... how do we pay better than a champions league team? Simple economics. Spurs are in the same place as Arsenal were when they built the Emirates - they have shown the finance providers the books & have a rigid wage structure in place to ensure overheads don’t accelerate and make repayment an issue. If published numbers are correct, Wilf earns more than Kane & Alli combined.

And yet some ask where our ambition is.... Absolutely. Then question why we have the highest wages to income ratio in the PL. I have little doubt Spurs will start throwing cash around once the stadium payments reach a certain level just like their friends down the road did.

I keep checking in the hope of an announcement stating we’ve signed him. Am I going to be extremely disappointed?

They already have , Kane and Pochettino have signed bumper new contracts and Ali etc are expected to in the near future too.

It's done according to this guy: [Tweet Link] Just waiting for official statement apparently.

Very good shout. Seemed unthinkable, but now is thinkable. Could still have the rug pulled, but if it happens it will be a stunning signing. Fingers crossed. Possible replacement for Cabaye? Free agent after falling out with Schalke & big clubs not seeming to be interested. A couple of reports say he wants huge wages but if nobody’s biting maybe worth a punt. Perhaps offer what YC was on plus bonuses. Started life as a 10 but improved greatly as a deeper playmaker.
