Let the dust settle, we did well to get to the Semi's for sure. Just wish Wilf had remained with England as I know he would have outperformed Sterling. In fact Andros would have done a far better job without doubt.

Good effort for the lads, in the end though Croatia had that little bit of quality and experience. Great ride.
The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years |

I dare say I would have done a better job, how much pundits tell me he works hard, work the channels, puts in a shift he seems totally rubbish as soon as any composure is required. Originally posted by davehuggins

4 I belief. All starting v Belgium the other day, who had 10 out of 11 playing in England. Originally posted by YT
This crops up after every England exit. How many of the France squad play in the Premier League? Genuine question, not rhetorical.

He does hold the ball well and releases it well, one of our problems is giving the ball away too much and I think hes a good foil for Kane People who criticise Sterling are usually those that have a very one dimensional view of football

Definately dangerous play, Walker comes into to head the ball a little above waist height, and the Croat sticks his foot stud first just above Kyles ear to stick it home. Could well have been out of sight my half time, but we were not and we ran out of steam, or were not able to match their intensity. a little above waist height Isn’t dangerous. It’s fair. Needed that 2nd goal. They were a mess and resorted to cheating 1st half.

Can't help but think that domestic football calendar is ridiculously congested e.g. why not scrap Carabao Cup and bring in Winter break at XMAS time? To think that football season starts again in a month's time already.... I think they’re more in their prime as well as being experienced and used to each other more. That regrouping for them at Ht was huge.

I’ve reffed in the past, and I would have given ‘foot up’ for that, without question. Incidently it was a header by Stones that was cleared. It’s there to be won mate. In the box, not at head height. If you disallow that you may as well play under waist height rules. He got there first, that’s it.

Well done England kept this nation going, one hurdle to far,not bad for a team that wasn't given a pray.

Gripe alert: I don't think Croatia were that good and we gave them too much respect in the 2nd half. The good news is that there are better players than Sterling and Alli, who did ok, in the pipeline. Not sure where the hell our next creative midfielder's coming from though. Southgate did ok overall with what he had in fairness, he's definitely earned a shot at Euro 2020. Edited by FairweatherEagle (12 Jul 2018 12.50pm)

Plus Trippier has to jump and put his forearm into the player’s back, making his back header weaker. All learning experiences but Dixon was right in that at that stage you have to make sure you do all your own personal jobs correctly. We didn’t and that was the fine margin in extra time and then they get everyone behind the ball effectively.
