With so many players out of contract think its 11, and the financing of a 75/100 million stadium think it will be facinating summer, jan window was not great, jack is he for future ?

Wickham. Jules, ward wants big time contract or wont sign, yohan, lee, sako plus others, all earn good wages but has to be time to let them go and base the team arond the lads playing last few games, use money saved to buy loftus check.

Time for some of the kids to be blooded, and for roy to buid a great team for 18/19

Releasing players who we then have to pay a transfer fee to replace doesn’t seem like a way of saving money to me. Nor does chucking in a load of youth players seem like a way to build a great team.

The best thing we can do, if possible, is work out how not to have the injury problems we had this season. If the majority of the current squad are available throughout next season, and with a couple of astute signings, we’ll be looking very good.

Wardy's long good-bye on Saturday might say that he feels he's played his last game... Brilliant stop from Vardy as well...

Ward turned down a new contract earlier in the season, so he may well have decided to leave anyway. CYL will definitely leave. Delaney I imagine will retire. Jules I imagine will stay on as third choice and that would be fine by me. Wayne is a good backup as is Kelly. Sako, for me, probably did enough to earn a one-year contract but wages will be a factor as he really did very little until the last six months. Cabaye may well depend as much on him as on us. We will probably still offer more money than a French club, but sometimes players get sentimental at the end of their careers. I would be happy to keep him for another year.

With Roy at the helm and with a less insane injury list I think the squad as it stands would be good for a top half finish next season. We have created a lot of chances in most games and when Tomkins and Sakho have played together they've been very solid. The big issue has been a striker and the big question this summer is whether we want to and are able to move Bentenke on and bring in someone who perhaps better suits Roy's system. I would also like to see the integration of a few more of our U23 players given their success this year and the way Bissaka has stepped up.

I seem to recall Jules doing a similar long goodbye in THAT game against Liverpool a few seasons ago...

Mutch and Puncheon you would have thought are now surplus to requirements..

Benteke probably won't go..but I don't think he is the type of striker we want. A ball to feet /skillful player is what we want that can beat players, score and is confident. Benteke is a target man at best and at worst, he's a 3 goals a season type player.

Losing Cabaye would be huge. Definitely think we need to keep him for at least a year or 2. Hennessey i'd like to stay as back up, but would he be happy to do that job? McArthur as with Cabaye, silly to let go unless a certain replacement is lined up.

Huge recruitment to make up for a very poor couple of transfer windows.

Dont let Cabaye go

Great thread.
Personally I believe that we should promote 3/4 youngsters; Lokilo, Lumeka & Kirby for certain; to the squad.
keep Mcarthur, Cabaye, Sako & Kelly. Ward if he can be persuaded to sign a new contract.
Sell Benteke, for what ever we can get.
Let Jules & Delaney have coaching roles, Jules as 3rd Choice keeper if he wants the position.
The rest let go & sign 2 goalies, 2 forwards & Amadou; get RLC on loan again from Chelski; 100% they will not sell him.
