Under my revolutionary new laws... you have nothing to fear... unless you’re a bigot... then I’ll tailor your unbalanced behaviour by hitting you in the wallet. Short term pain, for long term benefit. The next generation will be different... treating all people equally will be in the DNA of our society.

Everyone gets treated the same way if their circumstances are the same. There is a difference between heterosexual couples and homosexual couples. That difference is that one lacks an opposite gender and the other doesn't. To think that the potential exclusion of an opposite gender in a child's rearing is unimportant is ideological. As I stated, most gay couples wouldn't have this issue. Edited by Stirlingsays (07 Apr 2018 10.57am)

I bet loads of people on here have been brought up in single parent households. It’s the quality of parenting not gender or how many. Edited by 7mins (07 Apr 2018 1.14pm)

Edited by 7mins (07 Apr 2018 1.14pm) I was brought up in a single parent household. It isn't a like for like comparison to a situation where no opposite gender is available (I state again, this wouldn't be the case for most gay couples). Nevertheless, the statistics on single parent families on outcomes for the child aren't good compared to two parents....aren't you aware of this? Of course gender matters, and I consider your viewpoint as flying against what is accepted as common sense.

In law, everyone should be treated the same but clearly, people are not really all the same.
