There is a difference between heterosexual couples and homosexual couples. That difference is that one lacks an opposite gender and the other doesn't.

To think that the potential exclusion of an opposite gender in a child's rearing is unimportant is ideological.

As I stated, most gay couples wouldn't have this issue.

I was brought up in a single parent household. It isn't a like for like comparison to a situation where no opposite gender is available (I state again, this wouldn't be the case for most gay couples).
