This is what Roy said:- “We have signed a pre-contract with Vicente Guaita so he will join us on 1 July,” Hodgson said. “We would have liked to have tried to persuade the club to sign him in January but they didn’t want to do that, which is their right because his contract with them does not run out until the summer. It is good news that we will have him from 1 July and he will boost our goalkeeping contingent in the way I was hoping it would be boosted.” Roy, always the gentleman in public. In private though? Have you seen the clip of him not putting up with any smart funny business from the reporter?

Have you never looked at our side, maybe one obvious player unsigned, a huge lack of preparation and time together, and seen how they should make a decent start and have at least a respectable return of points after a few games and have no pressure on them but then do, every time? No, probably not. If Steve slept with your missus and bulldozed your house and village you'd merrily skip along and be content because he had to do it.

With the greatest of respect I really am befuddled by how you can state that I won't be happy if we win.I will be absolutely delighted. I really DO hope that you haven't joined the clan who assert that I want us to be relegated so that I can shout from the rooftops "I told you so".They could not be more wrong.

If we win today , you will post that we have Man U and Chelsea next so are bound to lose to them and will still be going down.

We are still not among the likeliest three to go down and yesterday the following were all s***: West Brom, Stoke, Southampton, Swansea, Wet Spam and, until the last twenty minutes, Bournemouth. The soi-disant "top six" have all been turned over at some point by someone they thought they were entitled to beat, including City, and including by us. There's no such thing as an unwinnable game. Anyone who's confused about Willo just needs to read some of the garbage he spouts whenever a referee gives a ridiculous decision against us. Any true Palace fan would be sticking up for the team, not filling the forum with treat officially replies telling us that our feelings are invalid.

While the OP is a little hysterical, I do wonder if the running of the team with regards to picking managers can be improved. Parish gets almost unlimited credit for rescuing us and giving the club its identity back by forging strong links with the community, as well as keeping us who we are. He seems a decent bloke, a little susceptible sometimes to people giving him grief (but hey, who isn't) but trying to do his best. However, when we came up, I said on here it would take 4 seasons before we should realistically be looking to push away from being a relegation fighting club. But, we're not. We've pretty much followed the same template every season; get into the mire, hire someone to get us out of it then they leave. The Pulis situation is something we don't know, but at the time he was someone worth hanging on to and we blew it. He then brought in Warnock is a move so bad I thought it must have been some kind of bet. Same with De Boer - talk about a punt! Allardyce didn't fancy it and while he's not great, he'll do a job, and Pardew was just a mistake. How does the manager recruitment improve? It's about time we kicked on and every team that flirts with relegation for several seasons ends up succumbing. Edited by FinchleyEagle (25 Feb 2018 3.52pm)
You'll be forever in my family's memories and it was an honor and privilege to play and lead in the red and blue |

Jesus Christ, Parish is now out too. We must be the first club in the history of clubs to have an injured chairman. And to make matters worse, we never bothered getting cover for him in the January window. Talk about lack of planning. This is absolutely bloody ridiculous! Edited by ZIGnZAG (24 Feb 2018 8.34am) brilliant couldnt agree more, made me laugh

You are not allowed to question Steve Parish on this forum. If Parish steals your bike, it is because you didn't lock it up properly. If Parish keeps stealing bikes, getting punished, and stealing bikes, and getting punished, year after year its down to society/poor bike locks/other bike thieves moving the goalposts etc. See my "Parish unable to progress us" thread for more back and forth on this hot topic.
