Ok, statistics are not always relevant, but Batshuayi has absolutely no problem regarding scoring. As opposed to Benteke, who has started countless matches this season. Yes, different teams, but how many goals should Batshuayi have for him to be considered able to buy a goal at the moment? To debate the topic properly; I think the issue with this comparison is that Batshuyai is nearly exclusively used when Chelsea are chasing a game and need a goal - invariably, leading the line for a very good team who are going gun-ho for a goal is going to lead to quite a few chances. Impact players will always tend to have a good minutes-goals ratio, because they're being deployed for a short time to do one specific thing. I don't agree with the view that Batshuyai "can't buy a goal", but simply comparing his goal/assist ratios to Benteke is hugely flawed. Iheanacho is the best example of this - phenomenal goal to minutes at City (amongst the best in PL history at one point), and has been thoroughly ineffective in a weaker side.

As opposed to Iheanacho, Batshuayi has been a starter for Marseille a long time and he was amazing. Hence why Chelsea bought him for 30+million

I know Benteke is having a bad season but I would prefer him over Batshuayi. I think for a club like Palace , 25-30 million needs to guarantee goals and he doesn’t. Yes, he could do but it’s a bit of a gamble. I’d rather take the punt on Big Ben for one more season to turn around. I think the previous poster made a great point. When you look at Slimani and Iheanacho, we would have loved them at the start of the season, but they’ve not pulled up any trees. Despite Benteke’s faults (and there's lots), he just needs to get his confidence up.

Slimani and Iheanacho have done well for how much they've actually played (or how little). They only have like 250 minutes in the PL, 250 in other competitions. If they had played as much as Big Ben, it just couldn't have been worse. Cause nothing can be worse than 1000 minutes without a goal. Let's judge according to their given time

There’s a reason their football has been so limited. I go to lots of Leicester games and they are both shocking players. Iheanacho has no real pace (I whitnessed live him being out paced by Jonathan Walters which is no mean feet) and despite the goals at city which were tap-ins, his all round play ain’t great. Apart from score for city, he never did anything else. Now he has to work harder and move...it’s no surprise he hardly makes the bench Slimiani is better and god loves a tryer. He gives his all every week, but he is the Algerian Frazier Campbell. We need goals and Benteke has proved he can get them. We just need patience through the next thousand minutes (Big eyes emoji)

Batshuyai, who I rate as a good young player, is not. Maybe if we were in a better position we could afford to take such a risk, but as it is, I'd stick with Benteke.

Ultimately you can read any of the fans forums or pundits opinions to see what people think of Batshuayi, or alternatively you can watch him and see that he spends all game making pointless flicks and tricks, doesn’t pressurise defenders and doesn’t make anywhere near enough dangerous runs. His ability isn’t in question as a finisher, he obviously can finish chances, but the reason Conte wants him gone is because he doesn’t work for the team. Conte is like Roy in that he likes players sticking to their task and the sum of the team getting the result. That’s how he has got the best out of players like Moses and Christenson. If you have watched a single game this season under Roy you would know that everyone has a role in the team that they rigidly stick to apart from Zaha who has a somewhat freer role. And while Benteke has not managed to hit any kind of form, hasn’t managed to score or create much, (an assist here and there and one goal against Leicester is all), he has stuck to his task pretty well in terms of positioning and helping the teams shape. He is part of a resurgent palace while personally out of form and looking shot of confidence with missed chances when he is in the right area. He isn’t playing well enough that’s obvious to anyone with half a brain even mattteo, but swapping him for a showboater with a far worse work ethic would be madness.

No Batshuayi please! He looks like Zaha's brother (same funny haircut too), but seems to be running around like a rabbit. Don't want Italian/Brazilian Eder either, he has made it crystal clear he prefer other options.

The abuse CB gets from those around me when he stays on halfway line and doesn't chase down defenders when they have the ball near their own area, do people not think that he is playing to instructions rather than just being out and out lazy? Dont get me wrong he is having a poor season and I do believe patience with him is wearing thin but those that call him crap (Matteo) are, in my opinion, talking out their a****
