We all know that we could do with a better keeper, just as we could improve in so many positions. It's just a shame that yet again we're approaching the latter stages of the transfer window with no signings in any position. It’s not as simple as him not being as popular as Jules CPJ. It’s down to him not being good enough. Plain and simple. You say he is better than Speroni but it’s really not that cut and dried to a large proportion. And he is in his prime as goalie where Jules is past his best. That you’re having to compare the two and point out one is better than the other is the problem in the first place really isn’t it. They shouldn't even be comparable. And if the first choice GK is comparable to one who really should be retired then I think you can see why fans are frustrated as hell and the abuse creeps out. Not saying it’s right from the stands. But it happens at all clubs across the land. And it happens to force change. Edited by Brentmiester_General (20 Jan 2018 9.34pm)

PZ, You surely don’t live under a rock. Have a look around these boards and other Palace fanzine sites. Hear what people are saying is happening at the games. The fans don’t abuse players that they rate and think are up to it. This delusion that I’m the only one who thinks Wayne is a poor PL keeper is bordering on insane.

Edited by Brentmiester_General (20 Jan 2018 9.34pm) I agree to an extent - Speroni should have retired as his continued presence means there will always be comparisons with a keeper who is quite rightly a legend at the club. You and I have been arguing about this for a long, long time, and I did say towards the end of last season that it would be better for all concerned if we got rid of all our 3 keepers last summer and started again. We didn't - and here we are still arguing about it. I agree they shouldn't be comparable - but to be fair earlier this evening you were pointing out how many times WH has conceded 4 goals this season compared with Speroni, and as you have pointed out many times stats can often be misleading. Yes, WH has let in 4 goals or more in the league 3 times this season but they were away at Man C, Man U and Arsenal.

Dowie dropped him for Kiraly last time we were in the Premier. So you are right their records for Palace are not comparable.

It looked for a week or so like the club were finally going to replace all of the GK’s. Seems to have all gone quiet again unfortunately . It’s still the number one priority position because of what you mention above. Hopefully the club will swing into action and get this sorted before the final day.

The back eight were off the pace, I think some of you are forgetting hennos saves in the second half. Today was no fun, but don’t point blame at the wrong people. More importantly, we don’t win at Arsenal, move on.

Someone shouldn’t be offered a contract because of a few fans arguing on a forum ? Get a grip.

None of those goals were WH's fault none. He could have done better with the 4th but that's it. One slightly off game doesn't removed the half a dozen belters.
