The salary that Parish is paid, Wilf, Tekkers and Co, earn in a few weeks so I don't think what he is being paid is unreasonable at all. CEOs of companies earn big bucks because they bring something to the table that you and I don't which is why we post on here moaning about their performance and they sit there and laugh at us all being small minded.

I'm not sure that Parish's salary in relation to footballers is at all relevant. The point that I was making was that he is paid a salary in line with Chief Executives of substantial companies and his duties include making difficult decisions and if his decisions turn out to be wrong the buck should stop with him

Employees often don't see it that way, and it would appear some fans don't see it that way either. Unless you or anyone else on here knows the full story on why these transfers didn't occur then the criticism should not be put on Parish. We just do not know the full facts.

Steve Parish is a minority shareholder and the board of directors (of which he is one) will decide his remuneration). He is paid a substantial salary to manage the club on behalf of the shareholders I’m not sure you have your facts straight, but then maybe you do. Where did you get the annual salary figure from? I’m sure he stated on the hol pod that he isn’t paid for the work he does at the club?

We've had 2 keepers for too long, overlapping 2 windows. Everybody else has 3. You get it done in time, the 2nd time if you failed the first. That's it.

Interesting quotes from the Anderlecht general manager. Basically saying if we had begun negotiations sooner, a deal could have been made as they would have able to find able a replacement in time. It appears this has been the case for many of our targets. I'm sure I also saw a video with Roy suggesting he doesn't understand the logic behind transfer dealings on deadline day when we have a whole month.

I am a fan of SP but not without reservation. I honestly feel he has done a really good job for the club on the whole. We are a premier league side for 5 years now and we have players a few years ago we could only dream about. But, I have said this before and I will say it again he seems to get the transfer priorities a little mixed up! IMO only we needed to sign and get in a new keeper at least immediately. Just on record I would like to thank SP for all his hard work and getting Palace to where we are now.

The question asked was who is to blame for the signings that didn't come off and the buck has to stop with the man in charge who is paid to make those decisions. We were after Leander Dendoncker of Anderlecht and their General manager has publicly stated that a deal could have been done if we had approached them earlier than deadline day. We were also after Brondby goalkeeper Frederik Ronnow but again our approach was made late on deadline day leaving Brondby insufficient time to find a replacement which is exactly what we did to the same club with the same player during the August transfer window. Who's fault is it that we didn't get our targets as we didn't try and sign them until the last minute?

They oddly made the choice the wrong choice of managers for them and ourselves. I said then they'd be better off with Frank and us Pellegrino. I thought the mistake would relegate us but not them. It looks like it would've relegated us and probably them. I don't know why they've not strengthened because it's blatantly obvious they can afford to and they've been linked with good players. Maybe because they're going to cut the manager. Rudi,

Why do I get the feeling he doesn't want to end up with 4 keepers because he can't bring himself to call time on Speroni being a keeper?
