No goals and missing big chances before injured. OK, rusty after lay-off, but an experienced striker worth millions with one task on his work agenda - put the ball in the net. First game after injury (Everton) he had only keeper Pickford to beat with the ball at his feet. 8 yards out and straight down the middle. A great save, hit the post? No, Tekkers even missed the frame. Rusty or not rusty, that is inexcusable....Would not mind two more flexible strikers with a bit of flair with their feet in January.

What is all this crap.
He's played 6 full games and we've created only one chance per game for him. He missed a sitter versus Liverpool and he fluffed badly against Everton, but all the others have produced great saves from the keepers including last night. Last night he won countless headers and flicked it on numerous times, but no one made the right run once to get onto them. He had our best shot of the night as he was crunched by two tackles and the save set up Wilf for what IMO should have been a goal. He held it up well on occasions and gave it away twice with careless passes, but then so did Ward, Schlupp, Sakho, Luka, Cabaye, Townsend, Zaha and McArthur.
Also that was far more than your beloved Glenn Murray did last night on a night when forward players struggled to make an impact.
The guy is a proven premier league striker for poor teams and a big reason why we survived last season, but yes let's get shot and buy two unproven championship strikers or some guy that's scored 150 goals in Holland.
Jesus wept.

He keep on losing the ball, make wrong decisions (back passes astray) and are mostly not where a striker should be. Like when Zaha's low cross flew past the Brighton goal....

Every player gave away the ball and made wrong decisions last night. RLC was at the back stick and didn't attack the cross either.
Gotta have a good scapegoat though haven't we?

Look this is football so it aint an exact science however there is a general pattern of play that centre forwards follow which puts them in the right place at the right time. Benteke's decision making as to when to hit the front or back post or god forbid just the box at all is at best poor. Yes he does some good things, he holds up the ball well and looks mobile at times, but others not. He has scored zero goals in the league this season. How long are we supposed to wait for a goal and what about the 8 or so complete sitters he has already missed this year? Is he excused those because he's a great player and he will knock one in eventually? He is I'm afraid a poor finisher for one who is considered a top class centre forward.

Eat my words, I'd love to, but I just can't see it at the moment.

At a cost of £40mill so far and counting I think it is fair that Benteke is put under the microscope more than others when he is under performing.

Could you elaborate on the 8 sitters he has missed this season. What do you regard as a sitter?
I have watched all the games and maybe one really easy chance went under his foot.
I regard Sakhos goal as a sitter.

We have one fit, recognised striker, who was our leading scorer last season, started this season under FdB (of whom the less said the better), has been subsequently injured and has started just one game since. If Roy puts Zaha and Townsend on the wings and RLC through the middle, Benteke will start to put them away. We need another striker in January, we certainly don't need to be in the position of needing two, having sold our best one.

Really, you've watched every game and can't remember the fluffed kicks, the complete missing of the target, the headers over the bar, the soft shots straight at the keeper. Niasse last week got one decent opportunity and took it. When was the last time you saw Benteke do that?
