Pity you were asleep when we were discussing what toon fans thought of Pardew when he came here. They invented the term and it's bl**dy accurate. And no, it doesn't mean "played out of position", it means good players whose performance has declined because of various aspects of poor management. I don't think that these players' performances declined because they were played out of position in a couple of friendlies. Their performances declined because they were playing for a manager who was f***ing s***. Exactly what happened here under Pardew and exactly what happened at Newcastle under the same manager. The key point is that it then takes time for the players to get back up to their previous level when the useless manager gets the boot and a new one comes in (Hodgson, Allardyce and Benitez respectively).

Hodgson has only in the last couple of weeks managed to get performances that look as though the damage has been repaired, and it took Allardyce a couple of months to make the Pardew rubbish look respectable again.

That is what "pardewed" means.

I am not sure you know what that word means. You are simply reading from the Geordie hymn sheet [which was always largely rubbish and steered more by regional prejudice than rational thought].

For the record, it could mean: "Performs superbly with a full squad; struggles when having to play the B-team".

I don't give a stuff for quibbling over semantics. De Boer did all those things to our players and so did Pardew. I haven't time for people who think their squabbling about a single word undermines a whole argument which is perfecly clear enough. It just means you're spoiling for a fight for the sake of it.

If you prefer to read it as "ruined", "f***ed up" or even "demoralised", be my guest. They're still s*** managers.

HTH.

Malcolm Allison. Came in with a big reputation then got us relegated two seasons in a row and was then unable to get us out the old Third Division. Brilliant cup run in '76 and charisma over load papered over the cracks for a while.
