"Ron Noades didn’t play football at any level, but he did a lot of scouting whilst Chairman. He unearthed a lot of talent and signed them.
So what’s your point about Parish never having played football? "

Ron Noades had a very good eye for a player.
He and Coppell spent hours on the road scouting players.
He also qualified as a referee and was manager of Southall FC, hence his personalised numberplate 'SFC 3'

Well, there you go. You have now said it yourself. Noades had more ability as a Chairman than Parish.

two seasons in the last 45 only when Palace were basically a midtable team throughout the season. The oOther 43 relegation jitters or promotion hopefuls. Incredible.

What is there to make a statement about?

We're bottom of the PL and it's plain for all to see. You don't get there just by being mediocre.

The other night, a set of players wearing Palace shirts had a chance to get into the last eight of a cup competition and blew it big time.

We're $hite! Could the Chairman and Board say otherwise?

Your original point was, that as Parish hadn't played football at any level, so he doesn't know what he is doing.
The Noades example, shows you don't have to have played football to know what you doing as a Chairman. I didn't say he had more ability the Parish, both have their faults, but not playing football isn't one of hem.

Yes but my point, which stands, was within the context of Parish being very involved (in all areas) yet not being football savvy. Noades let Coppell get on with it. He knew when not to interfere. He knew his limits at the time and/or trusted Coppell implicitly.

Parish is the very opposite of that and that has been holding the club back for a number of years now. He's even sold 67% of it to foreigners and for what apart from the ever mysterious where is it now £50mill?

Did Noades ever go into a season with only one striker having appointed the most s***e manager in the history of football? Genuine question.

If you include Burley, that makes two seriously flawed appointments.
In regard to his appalling poor judgment, knowing Wickham was likely to be out for quite possibly the entire season,he let Campbell go ( against his better judgment and regrets his decision) starts the season with ONE striker and fails to complete the signings on deadline day of either Tosun or Nsiade, the Everton striker, because he didn't want to pay their agents a fair days pay for a fair days work or the structuring of the transfer fee was apparently, not to his liking.
His penny pinching on those two agreed deals will no doubt come back to haunt Parish in May.

If you saw FDB as the s***test manager in football when he joined us then you must have had a crystal ball. He was a very sought after Young manager with a pedigree that is second to not too many.
