Really? It looks like there is a huge influx of young people into Croydon. Maybe mostly commuters but I don’t recognise the ghost town image at all. I guess you assume everyone is scared of Black and Muslim people like you are and would also choose to run away. Maybe the houses are cheaper than surrounding areas. It can't be because it is desirable.

Those of you that don't like Croydon should come and take a look at Cumbernauld. There's no immigation into there - and you can see why.

Cumbernauld looks like paradise to me compared with Croydon. Countryside on the doorstep even has a zoo. There is no escape here. The only way to connect with life could be to shop at a supermarket with a 'green' counter?

Not sure where you live, must be a different Croydon. We have the countryside in our back yard, starts at Addington. And more locally we have Lloyd Park, the Shirley Hills, Crystal Palace Park, Croydon Arena and the Airport area if you want some green. A bit further out Keston Ponds and Mitcham Common. Some of it could do with a tidy but it's not bad for a place only 10 miles from central London. I always wonder why Lloyd Park/Shirley Hills doesn't rival Highgate Hill, is it cos I is Sarf?

You have seen the actual countryside before haven't you? It does consist of more than a couple of trees and some dog poo!

Turtles, Beanos, both Crystal Palace club shops (George Street, Allders....were there any more?), Woolworths. indeed. Where can you go today to buy a single screw for 1p and have a decent chat with the man in the overalls behind the counter about something wood-related.

Just wondering if you know Gordon & Marion Dow (think it was Dow or Doe although that might've been Marions maiden name)
