That sounds like youre shifting the blame of being a sexual predator from Weinstein to the women. It's a sad state of affairs if it's considered a norm to get on.

I wouldn't excuse the principle but there must be women who know exactly what they will have to do and are willing to do it to get a job.

Let's balance our well practiced moral outrage with realism.

Any examples of 'I slept my way to the top' people you can name?

Only in your lefty head does it mean anything like that, I stated catorgorically that if he raped anyone he does jail, lots of it, if he he forced himself on any one then he gets jail.

However if he offered staring roles for a blozzer then that is not rape or anything like it. Sexual harrasement most certainly, but if the actress concerned agreed to sexual exchanges, for a certain film role, then morally she is as corrupt as him, and no different to a prozzy, in that she took a form of payment for sex.

And as I said Nick, he is an odious little creep either way, so I will thank you for not putting words in my mouth.

Why would an example prove or disprove the point?

I'd say that if all women refused to play along then there would be a lot less actresses in Hollywood.

Would you suck someones knob to get a job?

Your input is not valid here pansy.

The state of replies on here highlight exactly why many women would hesitate about coming forward.

Performers are often inherently attention seeking. It's no surprise that every actress that ever had a job will come out complaining
Look at that muppet Munroe Bergdorf.

Your implicit suggestion that potential victims should only come forward if they are welcomed and believed is, in my view, nonsense. If a woman has been raped or seriously sexually assaulted she should report it. That is so obvious that no one should feel the need to say it.

There is accuser and there is accused. Then there is investigation. There should be no bias.

I don't care if you have a problem with that.

This is a very interesting line. At what point does anyone be allowed to have their views and actions separated by their work? It seems to me that we are all very selective on this.

For example, do I have to hate Donald Trump for his success as a real estate investor because he thought grabbing pussies 10 years ago was fine? Or that he is a Republican?

The difference between myself and Hollywood is that I have never preached about having high moral standards.

I like T.S Elliot, despite the fact he was a terrible husband (alleged wife beater). I think the art can be seen as separate from the person (but that's easier when someone is dead). Also it means you can appreciate the fact that Michael Jackson could dance and sing with the best of them, and still hate the fact he was a child bothering sex monster.

No one is going to stop me listening to Gary Glitter.

Well, the guys who were in Oasis still make money off his sample....so it is what it is.

Glitter was apart of that glam rock scene and he had talent. I don't know when he started abusing kids but I'm glad he's suffered for those crimes. I hope any children he affected recover.

Interesting.I appreciate TS Elliott was a "good" poet, but knowing he was a big time scumbag anti-semite does rather dissuade me from wanting anything to do with him or his works..

Not suggesting that in the slightest. What I can however quite clearly understand is that going through the ordeal of being sexually assaulted, and then the stress of a high profile police investigation and likely trial is something not many would want to put themselves through. Especially with the low conviction rate and the attitudes of most towards the victims.
