How can you make such a comment. I personally thought he come across a bit of a wally. Especially regarding wanting praise for signings such as Delaney, bolasie and Zaha. According to Steve his constantly criticised by fans when signing go wrong. Now if you look when Wilf signed his new deal. There was plenty of fans praising his efforts. It's part of life if Steve parish is prepared to bask in glory with signings such as Sako and Zaha. Then you open yourself up for criticism of signing bakary Sako and adebayor. Yes, he was generous with his time, which I applaud him for. There was hardly any fresh news regarding stadium development, academy, transfer failures and the poor scouting department. The question were generally easy imo. My comments were based on the fact that during a difficult time for the club and him personally he had the 'Cojones' to agree to be interviewed, probably assuming he would be face searching questions about his decisions and regards the club in general. He is to be admired for doing so - I suspect many other Chairman would NOT subject themselves to such scrutiny in similar circumstances. You might disagree with what he said and feel he should have said more but I would urge you to consider that it was admirable of him to agree to the interview. Edited by Willo (18 Sep 2017 1.46pm)

Fans always throw this line out, but the best chairman are seen and not heard imo. You rarely see stoke, Southampton and Burnley chairman in the limelight. The only 2 chairman in the prem in the limelight are parish and the dildo brothers. Both clubs been underperforming for many years.

I'd have a very different opinion of him if he went on the radio show and didn't admit to making mistakes. He didn't deny he'd made mistakes, by the way. I also felt the things he held back on admitting to were mainly relating to things that weren't entirely down to him but he was reluctant and/or obligated and/or respectful enough to protect others involved in the mistakes. The guy doesn't walk on water, but I don't think he professes to either in my humble opinion.

I think you are taking that a bit out of context. We was basically saying the people on Social Media that slag him off for bad signings are nowhere to be seen to praise him for the good ones. Said they ought to make up their minds as to whether he's responsible for all the signings (good or bad) or none of them. I think that is semantically different to how you've interpreted it, with respect. PTJ - look on his post when he announces Zaha and Sakho. Fans praising him. His a victim of it though with pictures of him and both signings this summer.

I'll doff my hat to him when he goes on Talksport and gets a proper grilling rather than chatting with his buddies on HOL I was listening last night and I did wish he was getting more of a Paxman-type grilling. BUT the striker issue really should have been sorted out earlier. Yes we were after targets and some fell through and yes we didn't want to sign just 'anyone' but when you look at Willo's post with the strikers Bournemouth and Burnley have then it really wasn't good enough. I do appreciate him and love him for what's he done. He clearly loves the club and we could be in the same s*** as Portsmouth, Blackburn, Blackpool etc. but if he is going to come out to defend himself then he must accept some criticism too.
You fed me, you bred me, I'll remember your name. |

Well I was guessing he was saying the amount of vitriol for a bad signing doesn't seem matched by the praise for a good one. To be fair I only just re-joined Twitter last week. I haven't seen any of this. I'm just telling you how I interpreted what he said, not whether it was true or not.

He made an excuse about resigning Campbell as the solution to our strikers problem. He was the one that pulled the plug on niasse deal. He had 2 months to replace and upgrade Campbell. If you believe that nonsense, then I pity ya.

We are also on our 7th manager in 5 years, we have gone backwards not forwards as a club, a lick of paint and a few light bulbs does not constitute a new ground. 5 Years in and the playing staff are the worst they have been since Hollaway. The buck has to stop somewhere, it's alright SP saying he's had enough of know it all supporters, how come the Chairman at Swansea, Bournemouth, WBA, Stoke, are'nt having the same issues ?

I haven't heard the HOL interview but I am aware of Steve's views regarding offering Campbell a new contract. You might not agree with it but he was being totally honest. I'm not Steve's 'Defence Lawyer', all I am saying is that I admire him agreeing to be subjected to scrutiny at a difficult time for him and the club.
