The point is that there are things that we don't need to be doing that can help us live longer, healthier lives. Scientists are speculating that consumption of the modern processed / meat diet will mean that the current generation of kids could be the first to live shorter lives than their parents.

So we should ban cars, aircraft, volcanos?

What I'm trying to say is that we must put these things into a sensible context. People, in general, eat too much and are getting increasingly fat. The best advice for many people is to eat less and exercise more. That makes sense. More specific advise is less useful.

There is a growing amount of evidence to support the idea that eating meat is destroying health but people will choose to believe whatever they like.

Humans have to jump through hoops to eat dead animals. Farming them, catching them, cleaning them, cooking them. Most true carnivorous animals dont bother with all that stuff they just catch them, kill them and eat them. Herbivorous animals eat vegetables and fruits no problems. Why do we go through so much hassle to eat dead animals when the body will survive without the related health problems by eating a healthy vegan diet as prescribed by a growing number of doctors.

If you were back in time with our ancient ancestors, living in caves, without much meat to hunt you would probably take that dead animal....obviously not killed by a car back then....you'd take it and if it was fresh enough, you would probably cook it.

Like I say, our teeth are designed to eat many types of foods......Living into old age and concerning yourself with the most healthy things to eat was hardly more important than not starving.

The reason you don't salivate at the sight of roadkill is probably in part because you have a frontal cortex and can reason that you don't need it...Humans aren't meat only mammals anyway.....Even well fed dogs leave road kill and they don't have much of a frontal cortex.

Well, eating too much meat certainly.

As for criticizing other people's beliefs....well possibly, but how are you any different in this yourself?

Are your beliefs solely dictated by the science on this or do you pick and choose what you want to follow?

what if the human was starving and did need it? A hungry carnvivore would eat it and would more than likely not suffer any ill effects. Humans could cook the food and still suffer disease if it wasnt properly cleaned and cooked. Humans are better off eating fruits, veg, grains, cereals etc.

its based on the growing amount of evidence supporting plant based diets advocated by doctors and the people reporting health benefits from switching to them.

Not if they lived in ice age Europe. We have survived because we are adaptable.

Reducing meat intake and eating more veg does not equal becoming a vegan or a vegetarian. You don't seem to grasp the concept of moderation.

I'm not going to knock plant based diets.

However, that isn't the same as saying people shouldn't eat meat. It's the type of meat and how much.

Bacon sandwiches aren't going to help anyone...red meat has a lot of saturated fats but lean chicken is another story.

Did you miss the part where the meat industry contributes more greenhouse gases than the transportation industry? Climate change will need many things to change across the board - many countries are banning non-electric cars - for example, but we aren’t going to have electric airliners any time soon, so that won’t change.

But cutting out meat is good for you directly and good for the environment and is also much healthier ecologically (pigs in North Carolina produce 10x the amount of s*** that the human population does – which gets sprayed untreated onto fields where the toxins wash into the waterways, or the collection ponds just leak directly).

The land on which livestock is raised is rendered a toxic wasteland. Conversely, the land on which food crops are grown can be tilled over and used again (with a little rotation for longevity).

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

and thats without mentioning the important fact that it doesnt cause any cruelty to animals either.
