Croydonlad - you cannot just say - it's true when it isn't! First of all we are not bottom - we are second bottom according to the League table - that's true! Your opinion on Freedman is your opinion - mine differs - neither are true they are just opinions. Next year we will be in the Championship - let's wait and see should we when we are just two games into the new season with 36 more to go! Parish wanted De Boer - he might have wanted others as well but he was happy to get him - whether he proves to be any good only time will tell. I agree it doesn't look pretty right now and I have concerns like every other Palace fan but really - after two games we are finished are we? If Freedman were to take over maybe it would be a good thing but it is a supposition at best. As for Pulis - they fell out over Wilf and Pulis behaved badly - end of. Sam left because (it is strongly rumpoured)a friend of his died in the Manschester bombing and for him it was a life changing moment and he wanted out - for you to say it was about lack of investment is your opinion not a fact! Transfers right now seem to be really odd in that we don't have anyone other than the three done already - why - who knows? Lack of funds, over priced poor quality players - who knows. I doubt there are many happy Palace fans around right now with two losses in the opening two games and what appears to be a strange policy of square pegs in round holes where the players are concerned but it really is early days. Smile!!

I have no idea as to what are his 'Terms of reference' indeed 'Sporting Director' can mean different things at different clubs - there is no template for such a role.

I do admit to being slightly underwhelmed by Freedman's appointment, but that was mainly due to so many people thinking he is a ready made replacement for FdB. I am, however, pleased that we have at last filled this position with a "football" person, so that the many cock ups of this summer (ie no contingency for Allardyce leaving, inadequate pre-season etc) should not be repeated, and Parish can spend his time doing his proper job and not trying to involve himself in football matters that he clearly does not fully comprehend.
