The fact that you are still trying to drag up an old championship manager I find laughable. Freedman left because he didn't believe that his beloved Palace were as good as Bolton. He thought he was going to a bigger club with more money and his excuse was that "his family were in danger".. Knob. I remember that even Speroni tweeted WTF when he heard that freedman was going. Just like Pulis and Bruce and despite being a club legend he didn't want to be here. He just didn't believe in us as a club and where is he today? Right up knob street. I suspect you must be neighbours. We are now in the Premiership and had, what, 6 coaches/managers in the dug out since then... Dougie was a fool to himself, Trump is the president of the United States, Britain voted for Brexit and the world is in fact, a globe. There are some things you just need to accept and move on, even though it doesn't "feel" right.

What's Freedman got to do with this? I swear some Palace fans on here have grown overinflated senses of entitlement.....

We're already pretty good at taking points of bigger teams with our counter attacking style, we can't just rely on that though. We have to improve our home record, and make sure we put away those 'winnable' games on a more regular basis. That is what we're trying to change.

The gaffer is going to assess what works and who works where and how and make changes and give instructions accordingly. I imagine we'll go the same way for the WBA game and change personnel. Bovvered!! I used to live in Hong Kong and actually played for them for a couple of games. Couldn't get on with the very pointy boots we had to wear though so left.

Not fixing what isn't broken applies as much to football as anything else. I see no point at all in changing our style simply because it happens to be the way our current manager either played, or prefers. FDB is clearly not a stupid guy so I doubt very much whether he plans to change things just for their own sake, or before we are capable of doing so. I therefore think last night might have been a little experimental. It certainly did not get the best out of Benteke. I suspect we might mix and match how we play, according to the opposition and whether we are at home or away. Being flexible and capable of adapting to changed circumstances would strengthen us, especially at home against the weaker sides. Playing fast counter attacking football away, and against the better sides at home, has worked well, both for us and the others in similar circumstances.
Couldn't agree more. He might as well have been on the bench for all the service he got.

Freedman, Pulis and Bruce were greedy and didn't give a sh_t about Palace, only their pockets.

I just enjoyed the game and it would have been nice if we'd have won but it's only a friendly. My only quibble would be Punch. Don't like the idea that if he's captain as he's basically guaranteed a start. Luka would be my choice, with Wilf taking over in a year or two. Bring on Pubeless' lot on Saturday!

Some years ago we had a preseason tour of Sweden plus some home and away friendlies here in the UK. We won all of them ((about 9 I think) and it looked good for the new season. After ten league games we were bottom of the league. Ever since then I have ceased to worry about preseason games. Wait until after the Huddersfield game before getting knickers in a twist.

I've been a bit worried from day one of appointing him, simply because we know what happens with change and we know what's served us well, but once Franks had a couple of transfer windows to bring in most of the Ajax team who CAN actually pass to their team mates we'll be fine
