Given our current situation with limited funds and the need for a GK I'd say yes.

You don't get picked for the Spain squad if you're a mug and he's very mobile and great shot stopper which has become an underrated commodity IMO. Adrian at 3.5 million -/+ is the right deal for us. A less confident Adrian is better IMO than a less confident Hennessey and a confident Adrian is much better than a confident Hennessey. If he was playing with confidence last season we'd be priced and bullied out of buying him by bigger clubs. This suits us him being cheaper because of a poor season. Fact is he's very good as you don't play for teams like Spain if you are not, and we have the benefit of Spain's international team's performance staff to assist his performance with us, plus all the Spanish players he'll connect with - can't hurt us at all. And not Africa is it? He'll be closer to home when on international duties.

I'd agree with this, he's obviously a good keeper and for the low ball money we're talking about I don't think we can go wrong. We've obviously not got the funds for a 'joe hart' but personally I'd rather watch us succeed with Adrian and laugh at West Ham failing with there £100k week keeper. In all honesty he seems to be a good shot stopper, decent in the air and decent at distribution. Maybe he won't be our number one for five years but as a short term addition it probably makes sense. Let's call it a safe pair of hands.

I wasn't quite sure how I felt about this one but that write up is some good perspective and has made me feel a bit more positive about it.

The good news is that if negotiations have already started there is a chance he might be signed before 31st Aug !

Is it just me that has a vision of Parish, the managers over the last few years and potential players sat in a room with a contract and a load of those sh*t pens you get in Argos that some kid has scribbled with until they don't work any more? "Just keep trying all the pens Cristiano, one of them is bound to work before deadline day".
