Would be a good acquisition to get him on a season long loan" Definitely work a loan I think. He is probably still working out his best positition, which sounds as it is not DM so much as an attacking CM with (hopefuly) an eye for goal? If Palace get him, I am sure de Boer will put him to good use.

I don't know much about him other than that he is 'the next big thing' to come out of Chelsea. My only issue with a loan is that, although the risk is limited and there will be a small fee, if he is successful then he will return to Chelsea and we have to start all over again with recruiting that position. I am happy we are finally close to getting someone in though!

Your concerns are right, but bear in mind if you were to pay big money for a big name to fit a role that didn't work because the new formation didn't flow and the we are Palace and we only know kick and run. I'd rather we knew who (or what) we wanted and went out and got it when the time is right. If we were stuck with a player type that didn't fit then it is frustrating, but to have to source a player-type who fits the mould is better potentially. Also, this is a sign that we might be saving our dosh for a bigger name signing elsewhere that already fits...any names spring to mind???
So I manage a Workshop which provides a safe learning environment for blokes struggling with PTSD and other mental health issues. Being a Palace fan isn't listed yet. |
